NRA Instructor Shoots Student

Ohh Shoot has the incredible story.

NRA instructor unintentionally shoots student

An Orlando, Florida NRA gun instructor unintentionally shot one of his students in the foot during a class on carrying a concealed weapon. The bullet went through the table before hitting the 50-year-old student in the foot.
The class, intended to help qualify students to receive a concealed weapons permit, was held at a local church. It was the first class of its kind there.
"We won't be having anything like that in our church in the future," said the church's communications director.
This is not the first time a gun demonstration gone wrong has made the news in Orlando. In 2004, a special agent with the Drug Enforcement Administration shot himself in the foot with a .40-caliber Glock handgun while talking to schoolchildren about gun safety.
Ohh shoot.
Ya can't make up stuff like that.

  1. WTF? This was the CLASSROOM session of the class, not live-fire certification.

There's absolutely no reason for the instructor to be handling a loaded firearm during classroom instruction, nor is there a reason for ammo to even be in the room.

There's no reason for the instructor to be pointing a gun anywhere near the body parts of any students.

The same is true of the infamous "glock 40" incident. What made him think that unholstering his duty gun in a kid's classroom was a good idea I'll never know.

I suspect this guy's certification will be quickly yanked by the NRA.

Gee, Mikeb, it almost sounds like you're enjoying it that someone got shot. Does it give you "warm fuzzies" to know that someone got shot?

Somebody who is supposed to know better broke at least a couple of the Four Rules.

On top of that, he broke the NRA instructors rule of no ammo in the training area. I'm guessing that he's going to lose his certification, as he should. If he doesn't, then you've got a news story.
