"Machine Gun" D'Annunzio Loses in NC

USA Today reports on what might be the North Carolina Republican party coming to its senses.

Chalk up one victory for party leaders on an otherwise anti-establishment night: Tim D'Annunzio, who made national headlines with his "machine gun social" fundraisers, has gone down to defeat in a North Carolina congressional runoff, the Associated Press reports.

The victor in the race, former sportscaster Harold Johnson, got a big boost from Republican party leaders anxious to avoid a controversy-plagued candidate in a district they think they can win this fall.

Isn't running a machine gun party like putting all your eggs in one basket? Do you think most North Carolinians would like such a thing?

What's your opinion? Please leave a comment.

  1. Just because D'Annunzio is gun friendly doesn't mean Harold Johnson is not.

    > Second Amendment-
The Second Amendment guarantees the right of Americans to keep and bear arms. I will steadfastly work to maintain this right and fight vigorously against any measures that seek to undermine it. Our justice system does not need more gun laws and restrictions on individual liberties, but does need to do a better job prosecuting repeat offenders who are responsible for so many criminal acts. I pledge to protect the wonderful heritage of North Carolina’s sportsmen and women and will work to ensure their cherished traditions can be passed on to future generations.

  2. You're right. Being so close to VA, GA and SC, North Carolinians cannot help but suffer from the same madness.
