Yes, indeed, there's much wrong with Hollywood's treatment of guns. I recently watched again the great movie "Full Metal Jacket." It contains one of the best film representations of the Parris Island training I've ever seen, the other good one is "The Boys in Company C." I just learned that the same ex-marine actor played the drill instructor in both.But at the end of the basic training part of FMJ, which lasts about half the film, the idea of a recruit having possession of live rounds and killing the drill instructor and himself is completely outside the realm of possibility.
