Tucson Shooting - 1 Dead 4 Wounded

Tucson Arizona was the scene of a wild shooting outside a nightclub.

It happened just after 2 a.m. at Pearl Nightclub, 445 W. Wetmore Rd., said Sgt. Diana Lopez.

When police arrived on scene, they found about 100 people inside the bar and 100 people outside of the bar, Lopez said.

According to witnesses, the incident began with an altercation outside of the club, Lopez said. Witnesses say a Hispanic man pulled out a gun and began shooting into the crowd outside of the bar.

Please tell me again how this has nothing to do with the lax and sometimes non-existent gun laws in Arizona?

  1. How about you compare the crime stats and murder rate to Nevada's neighbor to the west... who just so happen to make the Brady Campaign's highest score.

  2. Surely if they only had a ordinance banning the discharge within city limits, this wouldn't have happened.

If only it were illegial to shoot across a public right-of-way, this wouldn't have happened.

If only they had a law against shooting near an occupied building, this wouldn't have happened.

If only they had a law against assault with a deadly weapon, this wouldn't have happened.

If only second-degree murder were illegial, this wouldn't have happened.

Surely, all they needed was one more law, and this wouldn't have happened.

  3. Does it have nothing to do with tight gun laws every time this happens in CA?

  4. Anonymous, When they build border crossings between Nevada and California and install metal detectors, then your remark will have some weight

  5. MikeB, you keep pointing to lax law/high crime states, but continually dismiss tight law/high crime states (or cities) by blaming their problems on other states. If local or state level gun control is so useless, then why keep advocating for it? You should push for blanket federal laws only- maybe even repeal the laws that aren’t doing any good. Why should legitimate CA gun owners suffer when the Sierra Nevada pipeline feeds the criminals with all the iron they need?

  7. Anonymous, This is where you're wrong.

thugs will always beable to get there hands on guns

Who says that? I'll tell ya. The guys who don't want gun control say that, but it's not true. Think about it. All the guns in criminal hands started out legally owned. Through proper gun control we can keep more of those guns in the hands of the good guys and less of them in the hands of criminals.

    That-'s the idea.
