As lethal? really?

A challenge for you...

  1. Years ago, when I was less concerned about the fact that MILLLIONS of idiotz in this country are armed with lethal weapons and insufficient intellects, I still used to get a kick out of people telling me how manly they felt killing deer or other animals with rifles and compound bows. I told them that they should try it with a spear or maybe just a knife--especially the bears.

Hunting demonstrates a lot of skills; woodcraft, marksmanship, butchery and the like. Hunters, the ones who know what they're up to, demonstrate some great habits and character traits; persistence and patience being chief amont those, imo. Manliness--not so much; unless you're one of those folks who think, "I haz teh gunz, don't nobody gimme no shit!".

As a hunter, demo, I actually agree with you on this one.

  2. If game animals were as slow and fragile as humans and let me casually walk up to contact distance, I would happily use a knife or bat instead of a firearm to hunt them. (Firearms and ammunition are much more expensive that a knife or bat.)

Fisherman use knives and bats all the time to kill dangerous game fish (upon reeling them into their boat). And people have used knives for millennia to slaughter livestock. I assure you knives and bats are quite lethal.

  3. It is not lawful for me to do so in the state in which I reside

  4. So, Laci, you're telling me that you have no objection to being beaten, stabbed, and run over? Death can come in many ways. Your obsession with getting rid of firearms has blinded you to realtiy.

  5. I wonder what the injuns did for meat before the white man arrived?
    Is a trapper a hunter?
Even your spearchucker president could tell you how they hunt in Kenya.

Are you gonna tell us, again, that you're not a racist dipshit, you racist dipshit?

Gee, Greggie, it's nearly inconceivable that someone who actually teaches English could be so fucking stupid as to infer what you did from the little poster that Laci plugged into.

Tellyawhat, Nimrod, drive your car as far as you can off the road then get out and run a deer down (or, better yet, oneathem razorback hogs that you Arkansans got down there) and see if you can't kill that little piggie with your Arkansas toothpick? hmmm? No? Well, I guess that a gun must be more lethal then.

Oh, wait, I'm sorry; did you mean in an URBAN environment? Oh, okay, gotcha. So, I'm sittin' at the bar and some dude 'fronts me and I run out and get my car and drive it into the bar and kill that insult-o-perp...oh, but that wouldn't really be a "Stand your ground" sortathang, would it? But, yeah, of course you could carry a big ass knife like Crocodile Dundee or maybe a Louisville Slugger whenever you go out to the grocery store. I'm amazed that I don't hear about the thousands of liquor stores and filling stations held up at batpoint. Ah, the stats are prolly available, check with John Lott, whyn'tcha?

    1. The debate about cars, knives, and bats vs guns isn't about relative lethality. It's about how all of those objects can be used to kill. They can be used in other ways, too.

But here's something for you. In one of the carry classes that I took, we discussed what was a better weapon--a car or a gun. The point being made was that if you're in a vehicle, you have a self-propelled, several thousand pound projectile. In a gunfight, if you have a car, use it.

    2. Firearms are devices proliferated for the manifest purpose of destruction. None of your outrageous examples (except for some pointed knives) lend themselves only to such a use.

      Cops aren't murdered with bats,

      Soldiers aren't shot with knives,

and revolutions aren't armed with cars.

    4. E.N.,

Cops aren't murdered with bats? We do see stories now and then about police officers who kill citizens with their batons. Oh, but that's o.k., right, because those are state actors killing subjects?

Soldiers aren't shot with knives? True, but why does the military still issue bayonets? And what's the purpose of a KA-BAR knife?

Revolutions aren't armed with cars? True, also. A car is a form of transportation, although it can be used as a weapon. Certainly, motorized vehicles of some type are used by revolutionary forces. Of course, deaths from automobiles typically take place on the highways in peace time.

  7. "If game animals were as slow and fragile as humans and let me casually walk up to contact distance..."

I don't know if you're aware of it, sunshine, but that's a well known fact and the major driver in man's developing weapons that work from a distance.

Yeah, bats and knives ARE lethal. They are also not the overwhelming weapon of choice for folks who are hunting or committing murder in the U.S.

    Greggie:

You know what happens when you insist on always acting like a moron? I'm guessing that you don't, or that maybe you just like being one.

Well, see, you can make sense. By all means use the car to LEAVE the vicinity instead of having to shoot it out.

    1. I know how to make sense. I do it regularly. Your mental deficiencies--illustrated by your poor spelling, frequent rages, and baby talk--prevent you from comprehending.
