Connecticut School Shooting - 27 Dead including 20 Children

The Chicago Tribune reports
The suspect in the Connecticut school shootings that killed 26 people is a 20-year-old and his brother is being held for questioning, a law enforcement official said Friday. Sources had earlier identified the shooter as a 24-year-old.

The law enforcement official says the boys' mother, Nancy Lanza, worked at the school as a teacher and is presumed dead.

Speaking on condition of anonymity, the official said the suspect is dead from a self-inflicted gunshot wound. The official spoke on the condition of anonymity because the source was not authorized to speak on the record about the developing criminal investigation.

According to the official, the suspect drove to the scene of the shootings in his mother's car. Three guns were found at the scene — a Glock and a Sig Sauer, both pistols — and a .223-caliber rifle. The rifle was recovered from the back of a car at the school. The two pistols were recovered from inside the school.

The dead included 20 children and six adults. The gunman was also dead.
I have no words.

  1. How could one person kill as many people as Alvin York in WWI to get the CMH? Simple. High-cap magazines. When the 2nd Amendment was written, the Amendment about "well-regulated militias", a fast shooter could fire 3-4 times in a minute.

    Are you pro-massacre or anti-massacre?

    1. and the 1st amendment was about quills and a printing press. Gun control laws are a EPIC FAIL. Over 200 years the 2nd amendment worked fine. Now, after infringing on that that isn't supposed to be infringed upon, we have mass shootings in "gun free zones". All you gun control nuts have blood on your hands and need to STFU!

    2. Alvin York used a bolt-action, five-round rifle and a seven-round handgun. It's not the device; it's the person using it.

    3. Blaming gun control laws for gun violence is about the stupidest thing I've ever heard from you guys, and that's saying something.

    5. Yet this guy didn't use any hi cap mags.. or the 'assault weapon'.. just two very common pistols widely used by law enforcement.

    6. really mikeynumbers? 1990 congress passed the "gun free school zone act" prohibiting teachers and administrators from being armed and able to actually protect our children. mass school shooting have increased ever since. how the fuck else do you explain it? YOU have blood on your hands and America knows it. YOU and your ASININE gun control laws are the cause of criminals being armed and citizens being defenseless.

    7. Yeah, really. No one knows how many incidents the gun free zones prevented. Since most of the mass shootings are done by you guys, the lawful-gun owners, we'll never know how many incidents we were spared.

But, you guys are responsible for the ease with which any maniac anywhere can get his hands on guns. You want that because it's your, and his, right. This is the price you pay for it. You should at least have the decency to own it. You want this version of freedom, in spite of the price. You got it.

    8. A gun-free zone doesn't protect anyone. Putting up a sign stops no one who wants to commit murder. You wring your hands over the slim chance of accidents and scuffles, but you ignore the genuine danger of being unarmed when a murderer comes in. You can't answer that.
