I know of a house in my neighborhood where a gunsuck gunwack NRA loonie lives. We need to start publicizing these houses. People deserve to know who in their neighborhood is a future mass murdering terrorist. I would NEVER choose to live next to such a person. However, if I were looking to a house to get some merchandize to make a quick sale at a gun show, what better place to start?
Nick, you so often accuse gun owners of being criminals, but here you are advocating for announcing to the world their private homes. This is a step away from encouraging home invasions. You're a shining example of the gun control freaks.
Since "gunsuck" is not a word that has any meaning outside your own head, I can't say how you label me. Nor do I care. I certainly am not ashamed of being someone who owns and carries guns. That much should be obvious, even to you.
Greg, I have to disagree with you there. "Gunsuck" has taken on a easily recognized meaning in the debate. It won't be long before you see it used on other blogs and then, who knows, Webster's may pick it up.
It's a barbarous vocalization, not a word. But as I asked you elsewhere, what's your standard for grammar and diction? You mock Southerners in our speech, but accept Nick's dialect of rage.
Mikeb, I'd respect you if you had any standards beyond your own feelings.
So Nick, let me get this straight, you want to publicize a good place for criminals to go get some guns and endanger your neighbor's life, his family's lives and his property so that they have the weapons to come after you and others in your community. Has this "NRA loonie" harmed anyone or done anything other than own something that you don't approve of? If you're so willing to hurt your neighbor maybe it's you that we have to worry about. Reread your statement; you want to tell the criminals where to go to get guns to sell to other criminals and punish those who haven't hurt anyone because they have different views than you. Whose side are you on? Your neighbor's or the criminal's?
So Nick, you want to provide any easy way for criminals to find guns, endanger your neighbor's life and property, and endanger yourself by letting the same criminals know that you don't have a gun. Brilliant! In one paragraph you suggest publicizing the houses in your neighborhood that have guns and suggest how easy and profitable it is to sell guns. You're either an absolute moron or you want to make it very easy to commit crimes in your area. I hope you don't live near me, I'll take the "NRA loonie" over you anytime, at least he might be able/willing to help me out if I needed it!
They also conduct surveillance of gun shops and ranges and mark cars with chalk (on tires) or with stickers on license plates then follow them or pass along the description for an associate to burglarize the home or auto.
But, if only everyone had a gun then thieves wouldn't pick on Irresponsible Gun Loons.
So Grung_e, if you're still serving as a Chicago police officer, how long does it take you to respond to a call when some kind of violence is suspected?...2 minutes, 10 minutes...20? And when you finally got there, were you able to save the victim or did you just get out your piece of chalk to draw the outline, fill out a report and start an investigation of the crime already perpetrated while the victim was awaiting your arrival?
Any competent law officer will tell you that YOU are the first responder when it comes to your own self defense. The Supreme Court has already held that law enforcement is not responsible for protecting you.
And if you condone what that moron, nickxdanger advocates, then you sir, are a sorry excuse for a law officer.
I offer my humble apology if you repudiate what he said and thank you for your service.
Of course they do. Same goes for homes that advertise that they are armed. Having a gun in the home or car, and giving any indication of it, only increases the chance that it will be robbed (of course, when the owners aren't there, making the self-defense fantasy moot). And, voila!, more guns on the street in criminal hands.
Around 10% of guns used in crimes were stolen (but around 43% were purchased in private transactions). Source: http://bjs.ojp.usdoj.gov/content/pub/pdf/ffo98.pdf
How about houses with expensive electronics? Robbery is a fact of life in cultures that believe in private property. But because someone else does wrong, I should have to give up my rights--that's your argument, no?
One of the reasons that I don't have stickers like those on my vehicle.

DeleteNo, duffus, I'm saying don't advertise the fact that you have a gun in the home or car. Pay attention.
DeleteDuffus? I would feel so hurt, if I were in third grade.
DeleteOh, Baldr, Greg gets distracted by his gun, and all rational thought leaves his head. Kind of a swooney deal, you know.
DeleteNick, do you have something against the English language?
