Elderly PA Concealed Carry Permit Holder Kills Man in an Argument - Charged with Murder

89-year-old Bill Welsh charged in fatal shooting of William Menni

Local news reports

Homestead businessman was charged in the fatal shooting of a man he hired for contracting work late Friday evening.

Police said funeral home owner, Bill Welsh, 89, and contractor, William Menni, 58, of McKees Rocks got into an argument in the parking lot of William R. Welsh Funeral Home around 12:30 p.m. when Welsh pulled out his handgun and shot Menni.

Sounds like a good SYG case. The old guy obviously felt threatened, right.

  2. Where is there any mention of Welsh having a carry license?

  3. Wasn't mentioned in the video or the text. I wonder if this is a written version of Tourette's. The spontaneous typing of permit holder when writing.

    1. I'm making a logical deduction because the guy simple pulled a gun out. Only two types can do that, out-and-out criminals and law-abiding gun owners with a carry permit.

Or he could legally carry without one. This is where the trial comes in.

    3. Mikeb, could he possibly have known he was going to confront the contractor and illegally brought his gun with him?

    4. No, doubtful, otherwise he would have been charged with that along with the murder.
