Thanks to democommie, who's got that irony-spotting eagle-eye.
Some counties have decided that they will not wait for the state to rule on the issue and are already denying access. Some counties are also saying that they won't implement various provisions of the NY SAFE Act (http://www.governor.ny.gov/nysafeact/gun-reform).
What's deliciously ironic is that the same gunzloonz who were foaming at the mouth and whining about being outed by those who HATE TEH GUNZ are now proudly, defiantly, bravely, patriotically and totes cluelessly putting anti-SAFE Act signs, like the one pictured here.
The link proudly claims that 7,000 of the signs have already been distributed.
Not so ironic Mike. It all revolves around consent. If the government requires the registration of firearms and collects personal information for its records, it takes on the responsibility of safeguarding that information.
ReplyDeleteThe decision by individuals to post these signs is their own decision.
But, when they're the same guys, it's ironic.
DeleteThere is no hyprocrisy here:
ReplyDelete1. I can decide to tell the world things about myself without approving of some newspaper releasing that information. My private life is mine to do with as I choose, not a paper's.
2. You're assuming without proof that every person who is opposed to the (un)SAFE Act is also a gun owner who wishes to remain anonymous. Someone could oppose that act on constitutional grounds without also being a gun owner. It's the same way that I support abortion rights, even though I can't exercise them myself.
You're right on both points. But, I'm guessing that at least some of those 7,000 were raving mad about the newspaper. That makes for irony and hypocrisy.
DeleteMikeb, get a book about logic and read it. You can't agree with my points and then say what you said.
