It is a bit of a hoot. Especially the woman trying to push all the good drones have done. I cant speak as an expert, but most drones operate well above the 1,000 feet which is where controlled airspace in the US begins. So this is more like a publicity stunt aka a public statement. Something fun to hang up on your wall.
This is an illustration of the mood of Americans. Some are sheep willing to be controlled, whether for wool or mutton doesn't matter. Others are standing up for our rights.
How is it being used? Do you know? No, you don't. Just like the idiot in the video, you have no idea what's being done with those drones. You're just jumping on the anti-government band wagon.
I think it would make much more sense to promulgate an underground drone defense network of patriots. Since there is no loss of life, only property, it's mostly a civil disobedience issue. Why try to make it legal? That's patently ridiculous.
Maybe it is a good time to reign in the militarization of the police departments across the U.S.A. If they think that they have the right to survey the peoples without any public hearings or public recognition of what is going on, I guess it is a great way to bring up public debate. When I was a kid, there sure as hell weren't any police helicopters flying around aimlessly unless there was a crime reported. There sure as shit wasn't any misuse of National Guard helicopters looking for marijuana plantations as came to light ten years ago when a couple of doofuses in an apple chopper started a major conflagration by slamming their copter into power lines over dry brush. If Rand Paul was right, we're all doomed.
Right, 90% of Americans want better background checks, yet, the Congress refuses to pas that legislation. That's an example of how well our political process responds (works) for the people.
Amazon sends drones out to deliver books. Not one made it because gun loons (who I guess thought it was the government coming to bomb them) shot them all down. So much for the right of free commerce.
I would imagine drone technology has many uses other than spying of people. But don't try to tell the gun nuts that. They have a lot invested in being victims of the oppressive government.
It certainly would not be practical if nut jobs are shooting them out of the air because they are paranoid at the mere idea, or think they are somehow a threat to them. That's like shooting at UPS trucks because you have a paranoia about large brown trucks.
