Hartmann and Lott

I wish Thom Hartmann would have let Dr. Lott speak a bit more, but he made a good point about the inequality.

  1. The theory is sound. If poor people cause crime, all we have to do is give them money in the first place so they don’t have to rob people.

  2. Hartmann didn't want to discuss the premise of the book at all... had such a hard time wrapping his head around the title that he couldn't even say it.

No surprise the entire "interview" is nothing but "Ohh... shiny! Socio-economic study from the U.K."

Lott was correct about the poor are affected most by crime. This is what is bad about the so-called Saturday Night Special ban. The poorest people are the most vulnerable to crime, are the people who would benefit the most from wielding a weapon, and the least able to afford to do so.

  3. I'm sure he is right about the poor being affected the most but the gun control concerns about more guns affects them more too. Theft, misuse and improper transfers would naturally happen more in poor societies than among the affluent.
