Here's Proof

It is more likely that you'll be hit by a meteorite than that you'll need to use your gun to protect your life. I knew it.

QUAKER CITY, Ohio - An Ohio man says he was standing in his yard when he was struck by a falling object from the sky.

  1. In a brazen display of macho-ness I went out alone during a meteor shower tonight. The Flying Spaghetti Monster in the sky spray fired from the hip dozens of fireballs at me, but he missed each time. It was pretty scary MikeB. Perhaps you can tell me what my best defense is (or maybe you can even charge me for a 3hr course)? Should I not go outdoors in mid August?

  2. Odd proof of likelihood... I've read of two stories in my local paper regarding defensive firearm use in the same time period you've chronicled two meteorite stories--on a national level.

  3. TS, Here's what you need. If I'm not mistaken you already picked one up.

  4. No, that's much too thin, Mike. What you really want is a military PASGT kevlar helmet. The Bell "meteor" is for landing on asphalt or concrete. The PASGT is for stopping shrapnel and other fragments. Much better for meteorites.

  5. MikeB, along with learning the difference between most, many, and some you should also try and figure out the proper usage of 'more likely'. And you claim we exaggerate a lot.
