Tennessee NRA member asserts his God-given rights, kills couch:
A Maryville man was arrested and charged with aggravated assault and felony reckless endangerment Saturday after allegedly shooting a couch with a .44 Magnum.
William Michael Paine Jr., 24, Mountain View Circle, Maryville, was taken into custody at an area restaurant with the handgun still in his possession, according to a Blount County Sheriff’s Office report.
Deputies responded to the shooting call at 1:41 a.m. Saturday at a residence on Limestone Drive. When they arrived, they made contact with the 29-year-old victim, who told them that his friend’s sister and her boyfriend, Paine, came over to the residence to have “a few drinks.” When they arrived, Paine had a large silver revolver and two large knives in his possession and wouldn’t take them outside and leave them in his vehicle when asked by the victim.
