Not.
The wounded employee, 64-year-old John Lukachak, is recovering from injuries to his left hand and upper shoulder. The gunman fired a single bullet that police said lodged in a large muscle in Mr. Lukachak's back.
The robber, described as white and in his 50s, entered Federal Firearms Co. on Thoms Run Road at 10:05 a.m., just after the shop opened. Police said he was armed with a gun that had a large-capacity magazine, possibly a machine pistol, and took a weapon from the store. Mr. Lukachak reached for his own gun but did not return fire.
As I've sagely noted many times, it's complete lunacy to believe a firearm (or many firearms) will keep you safe. Too many gunloons believe a criminal is going to broadcast his intentions from the next county and give the gunloon and opportunity to assume his NRA-certified position.
This story also puts the lie to the old "gun-free zone" theory. You know, the one that says criminals NEVER go where they know guns are present, like police stations or gun shops.
ReplyDeleteAlways hard to stop an ambush.

ReplyDeleteTell that to this guy.

Lots of stories out there everyday. You'll never post them as you're only looking for the negative use of firearms.

ReplyDeleteIt may be true that there are lots of stories out there about defensive use of guns, but the ones about gun violence are 100 times more numerous.
On this blog we maintain approximately that ratio, 100 to 1.
