mike - the statement implies they performed their own stunts - not that they actually hit each other. Stuntment don't really hit each other in fight scenes.
What I find most interesting is that Mr. Carradine was a minor luminary with some of the gunzloonz but when he died he was nothing more than a pervy meatbag*.
* Full disclosure; I found him to be a pretty lousy actor most of the time, relying on facial shctick and his "Kung Fu" rep.
