Another mass shooting. We miss some of these, but even so, we are averaging one or two a week, or more.
Enough violence, enough mass shootings, enough guns.
It couldn't be that gun control measures don't actually work, even though most people can't carry legally in California and gun ownership is heavily regulated there.

It is clear that it is the gun culture is at fault, and that gun restriction is part of changing that gun culture.
Yet you persist Greg in being part of those that favor guns and violence over not guns, and not violence.
Your insistence on defining good guys + guns and bad guys+guns has a serious defect in the definitions -- too many people who you define as good guys with guns are committing the bad actions with guns. Notably that would be the murder suicides and any other number of poor gun usage, including transferring guns to those who are in prohibited categories without checking, or the legal but dumbass in Utah who was shooting at a mouse in his kitchen, gut shooting his roommate. Or the target shooter in Texas whose stupidity, carelessness, and selfish recklessness --- to damned selfish and lazy to move his targets to a safer location -- oh, NO, can't have that, it might INCONVENIENCE a gun owner!!!!!!!!!!!!!! -- resulted in shot kids at their school.
GUNS are the problem. They are not the entirety of the problem, but they are a major key to it. Without a lethal weapon, there is less violence. It doesn't disappear entirely, but it does reduce dramatically.
The only way to eliminate gun violence is to remove all guns from this country. That's impossible without massive violations of civil rights and possibly a civil war. Your halfway measures will only disarm good citizens. No thanks.
I'm pleased to be a part of the problem as you see it.
I'm not talking about ELIMINATING anything, by the way. I'd be happy with solid improvement. What you said about my plans "only disarming good citizens" is wrong, and what you said about a "possible civil war" is stupid.
If you assert as an axiom that guns are bad news, how can you not favor eliminating all guns? Can you see how we doubt your claim that you don't want to take away guns from everyone? You're the one who's being dishonest here.
That one's easy Greg. Guns are bad news because half of you gun owners are unfit for one reason or another. Correct that and the original premise vanishes.
I think one of the commentators after the article had it right: "We need to ban "Sweet Sixteen" parties."
ReplyDeleteNo, we need to get the lead out- as in bullets, and put the sweet back in to sweet sixteen parties.
ReplyDeleteThey'd be just fine without guns.
Did you miss this one?

Well you certainly are that, Greg.

You say that because owning guns isn't important to you. It's easy to take away from others what you don't care about yourself.
