Was There Racism in La Pierre's Remarks?

I'm often the first one to call Conservatives on racism, but I have to say I dinn't see it in these remarks. Did you?

I suppose it could be argued, like Michael Moore did one time, that in the mind of most white people, who predominantly make up Wayne La Pierre's audience, the imagined looters or home invaders or criminals in general are usually black or Hispanic.

Nevertheless, it seems to me the Lefties are making too much of these comments by calling them racist.

What's your opinion?  Please leave a comment.

  1. Genuine racism is a grave misdeed. An act on such depraved beliefs often constitutes a Crime Against Humanity. It is a trivialization of the genuine article, and to the victims of such an abomination, to frivolously mislabel anything that one disagrees with as "racist". If one "pulls the race card" they victimize all of those who have suffered because of racism, and disgrace the memory of those who have sacrificed everything to free mankind from it's perennial scourge.

What is to happen when genuine racism manifests? If such a concept is trivialized, then who will take such claims (even if true) seriously? Reminds me of a certain work of Aesop, involving a foolish boy and a wild canine.

  2. Mikeb, you're at risk of losing your leftist card when you criticize Alex Wagner. You're supposed to sing along to her tune.
