The Incredible Bias and Dishonesty of the Pro-Gun Zealots

Why don't you and the other pro-gun commenters use the same logic you use on the unarmed drunk person who tries to enter the wrong house and gets killed for his trouble? About him you say if he didn't want to get dead he shouldn't break into peoples' homes. But for this poor persecuted gun owner we don't hear anyone saying if he didn't want to go to jail in NJ he shouldn't have "forgotten" his gun was in the car.

You see how you guys run. A gun owner shoots an unarmed person and you blame the person, like this one and this one.   When an Alzheimer's patient is stumbling around and gets killed, it's his fault, drunk teens mistaking your house for theirs, it's their fault.

But when a gun owner "forgets" his gun on a trip to Atlantic City and you blame the laws of NJ.

You refuse to hold fellow gun owners responsible for their actions. That's bias and that's dishonesty.

  1. Did he forget that he had a gun while breaking into someone's house? Or while assaulting someone? Was he pointing his gun that he forgot he had at a police officer or CCW person? No. He wasn't doing anything wrong.

But you do want to see him in prison, I suppose. Why else would you make this post?

    1. No, that's not why I made this post. I made it to point out the incredible bias and dishonesty of pro-gun zealots like you.

  2. A person who breaks into another's home is violating the rights of the owner. But the State of New Jersey doesn't have the right to decide who gets to travel within its borders. I liken this to the situation in Mississippi during segregation. It was wrong to tell some people not to drink from certain water fountains or not to occupy certain seats on a bus. It's wrong to bar good citizens from having their firearms in their possession.

    1. Are you hittin' that home brew again, Greg? The guy brought a gun to NJ which is against the law. Assuming there's nothing more to it, putting him in jail for a year is excessive, but letting him and all those idiots who bring guns to airports because they "forgot" go with a slap on the wrist is too easy. All these guys should lose their gun rights. "Forgetting" is not acceptable for responsible gun owners.

    2. You think it is excessive that he could go to jail for a year, but you don't think the law should be changed. He should take solace that guys like you who draw up these laws might kind of feel bad about him wasting a year of his life in prison if they stop to think about it for a second.

    3. Airplanes are a special case, since any damage to the vehicle is potentially catastrophic, but states have no business banning the exercise of a person's rights.

Or was it right, in your view, to arrest Rosa Parks?
