Michigan Gun Club Unveils Plans to Prevent Stray Bullets
Get a load of this guy. He's got all the honesty of some of our favorite commenters. First he says, "accidents will happen." That's one of the favorite pro-gun excuses for negligent and unsafe behavior. Then when asked if steps should have been taken earlier to prevent the stray bullets from escaping, he says what any good pro-gun liar would: "no."
The defensive prevarication of the gun-rights fanatics is very telling. If they were really in the "right," they'd be able to play it straight.

California Gun Club Robbed of Four Shotguns
Local news reports
I'm afraid this is another case of negligence on the part of the gun club in their storage and security measures.

Of course the thieves are 100% responsible for what they did and should be arrested and punished accordingly. But, what kind of shabby locks did the gun club use for security. And what kind of safe is not bolted to the floor and heavy enough to deter what happened?According to Lawson, thieves gained entry into the storage shed by cutting through both locks on the double doors. After entering, they dragged the safe containing the guns outside to a waiting vehicle. From there, they drove to the other side of the parking lot to a stand of trees where they pried open the safe, thereby destroying it.
I'm afraid this is another case of negligence on the part of the gun club in their storage and security measures.

Scituate Rod and Gun Club Loses Legal Battle
boston.com reports
Why is it so difficult? Shouldn't this be the first thing that happens after stray bullets leave the area? What's your opinion? Please leave a comment.A group of Scituate neighbors has won a big victory in a long-running legal battle, after a judge prohibited any rifle or pistol shooting at the Scituate Rod & Gun Club. The club has been in litigation with neighbors over the rifle and pistol ranges since early 2009, when stray bullets allegedly were found on nearby propeties. In a decision issued earlier this month, Superior Court Judge Charles J. Healy permanently barred any person from firing a rifle or pistol on the club premises until certain safety modification can be made.In addition, damages ranging from $1,000 to $6,000 were awarded to several neighbors.Archery, skeet shooting, and other activities are still allowed at the club.‘‘It’s a win; there’s no doubt about that,’’ said Dan Dwyer, an attorney at Murphy & King who is representing the neighbors. ‘‘The lawsuit was about safety, and they got a permanent injunction.’’
