The Erin Burnett Interview with Ted Nugent

My favorite part is when he personally took credit for getting Piers Morgan's Show cancelled.

On another thread I made the remark that you gun-rights fanatics get all personal about it while we tend to attack what our opponents say. I was asked if I don't personally despise Ted Nugent.

Well, that got me to thinking. I suppose I do.  He's a draft dodger, an admitted statutory rapist of young girls, he often uses racist and misogynistic slurs, he's a blowhard and a bully. For those reasons and more, many folks on my side despise Ted Nugent, myself included.

You guys, on the other hand, despise Piers Morgan for nothing more than his stance on gun control.

Do you see the difference?

Ted Nugent Apologizes - Sort Of

rick perry ted nugent

Business Insider

Controversial rocker Ted Nugent has finally apologized for calling President Obama a "subhuman mongrel" following a backlash that included a number of Republican politicians, Politico reports.
"On behalf of those professional politicians and those who put their heart and soul into representing we the people so aptly like the gentlemen I just mentioned, I apologize for using the street-fighter of subhuman mongrel instead of just using more understandable language such as violator of his oath, the Constitution, the liar that he is," Nugent told Politico. "I apologize for using the term subhuman mongrel and I will try to elevate my vernacular to the level of those great men that I’m learning from in the world of politics."

Ted Cruz gave one of those Greg Camp kinda denunciations. It's always funny when people feel constrained to sacrifice honesty for their political agenda.

Ted Nugent Says 'American People' Are 'Dumbest Society in the History of Humankind'

Link

Former rock star and current NRA board member Ted Nugent has never been shy about insulting President Obama, poor people and African-Americans.

But he recently expanded his target to include the entire population of the United States.

"The American government today will go down and the American people, it breaks my heart to say... will go down as the dumbest, most unappreciative society in the history of humankind," Nugent told the Associated Press.

Nugent also made his obligatory Obama insult, calling the president a "monster in the White House" who "wouldn't qualify to drive my tour bus."

Interestingly, Nugent is never attacked by conservatives for slamming the President of the United States, but the Dixie Chicks were pummeled ten years ago for daring to criticize President Bush once.

Now, that's a double standard.  What do you think?

Ted Nugent's Wife, Shemane Deziel, Arrested - Gun at the Airport

TMZ

Ted Nugent's wife Shemane Deziel was just arrested at an airport in Dallas, Texas ... and sources tell us it was because she brought a gun into the terminal ... TMZ has learned.

The arrest took place at Dallas/Ft. Worth International Airport. It's unclear if Ted was with Shemane at the time of the arrest.

Shemane has been married to the "Cat Scratch Fever" rocker since 1989 -- they have one child together. They reportedly met when Ted was a guest on a Detroit radio station, where she worked on the news team.

Coalition to Stop Gun Violence Calls for Ted Nugent's Removal from the NRA Board

Go here to sign the petition.

ted-landingpage

Ted Nugent has been making news for years with his angry, racist rhetoric. And throughout it all, he has sat on the National Rifle Association (NRA) Board of Directors, helping to lead the nation’s premier gun lobby organization.

In recent weeks, however, Nugent has sunk to a new low with a series of statements that are so overtly racist they call into question why the NRA is continuing to allow him to represent their organization:
  • Speaking to conspiracy theorist Alex Jones, Nugent said, “Blacks can fix the black problem tonight if they just admit they can do anything I can do…anything that any American can do if you put your heart and soul into being honest, law abiding…” He then claimed, “Racism against blacks was gone by the time I started touring the nation in the late ’60s.”
  • During a paid appearance before an association of entrepreneurs, Nugent bragged about shooting and killing 450 feral hogs with a machine gun in Texas and added, “And now if they would just take me to South Central [Los Angeles].”
  • Nugent described Trayvon Martin as a “dope smoking, racist gangsta wannabe” and said the slain teen’s parents should be sued and held “liable for the emotional pain and suffering [George] Zimmerman has been put through for the past 18 months.”
The NRA likes to bill itself as the “oldest civil rights organization in the United States.” If they want to wear that mantle it’s time for them to walk the walk and end their relationship with Ted Nugent immediately.

Tell the National Rifle Association: Enough is enough. Publicly repudiate Ted Nugent’s racist rhetoric and remove him from your Board of Directors.

Ted Nugent for President - I Kid You Not

Ted Nugent is a musician and board member of the National Rifle Association. / Jack Kurtz, The Arizona Republic

Detroit Free Press

Ted Nugent for president? The Motor City Madman and gun enthusiast apparently is thinking about running.

A story for The Washington Post Magazine details Nugent's political activism and explains that the '70s-era rocker is indeed eyeing a White House bid. Arkansas former governor Mike Huckabee, who sought the Republican presidential nomination in 2008, says he'd help Nugent if he decided to run.

Nugent has already practiced his presidential campaign slogan. "Hi, I'm Ted Nugent, I have nine children from seven women, and I'm running for president," he told the Post's Steve Hendrix.

A presidential campaign may sound far-fetched, but there are people out there who would eat it up. Nugent for President memorabilia was all the rage at the recent National Rifle Association conference in Houston.

Jeffrey Nugent Says Little Brother Ted is Wrong on Background Checks

Courtesty of Jeffrey Nugent - Jeffrey Nugent, left, and Ted Nugent with a wild boar they killed in 2006.

Washington Post

And I agree with Ted that our constitutional right to bear arms should not be undermined. I want all those who are qualified to purchase a gun to be able to do so. But — and here is where I part ways with my brother — not everyone is qualified to own a gun, so expanded background checks should be a legislative priority.

I believe strongly that expanding and improving mandatory background checks will keep a lot of people who aren’t entitled to Second Amendment rights from having easy access to guns. As of today, a convicted felon can find a gun show or a private seller and buy a firearm without a background check. That loophole should be closed. Every gun transaction must include a thorough background check. Why would responsible gun owners want to protect people who threaten not only our safety but our gun rights?

The NRA has it wrong: Irresponsible gun owners are bad for everyone. If you shouldn’t have access to a gun, then there should be no way for you to access a gun! Can anyone argue with that?

No, of course no one could argue with that, not and maintain any credibility.

Is Ted Nugent Dead or in Jail Yet?

You remember when we posted this one right? At 1:40 he made that ridiculous pronouncement, which I suppose he and his supporters want to forget about now.

The comments on the original post showed plenty of support.  Has that changed now that we know he's also a child molester in addition to being a draft-dodger?  I doubt it because the one-issue gun nuts aren't interested in anything but guns.
