Delaware Man Charged in Child Shooting
Local news reports
A New Castle County man has now been charged in connection with the accidental shooting of a toddler back in September.
The little boy shot himself, when he found a gun.
34-year-old Anthony Graves is charged with unlawfully permitting a minor access to a firearm. He's also facing charges of endangering the welfare of a child.
The shooting happened inside his home in the Valley Run development of Claymont.
The 2-year-old shot himself in the head.
He was originally in critical condition, but officials say he's expected to be discharged from the hospital later this month.
Another Texas Kid Shoots Himself
Local news reports
The shooting was reported at around 8:45 a.m. Friday at 807 Kern Rd. in Killeen.
Officers found the boy with wounds to his left thigh and chest area caused by a single bullet, police said Friday evening.
The boy’s mother told officers she was in the bathroom when she heard a loud bang. When she went to investigate, she found the injured boy in his bedroom, police said.
Officers at the scene said the boy shot himself after he found a .380-caliber handgun, which his mother said was on a shelf in a closet in the master bedroom.
Officers recovered several other weapons from the home, police said.
The victim and his 1- and 7-year-old sisters were removed from the home and placed in the custody of Child Protective Services, police said.
So, they can't charge the irresponsible gun owner for seven days but they can take the guns and the kids away immediately? Does that make sense to anyone.
Quote of the Day
“As Mankind becomes more liberal, they will be more apt to allow that all those who conduct themselves as worthy members of the community are equally entitled to the protections of civil government. I hope ever to see America among the foremost nations of justice and liberality.”
― George Washington: "Letter from George Washington to the Roman Catholics in the United States," May 15th 1790Let's not forget:
Your love of liberty - your respect for the laws - your habits of industry - and your practice of the moral and religious obligations, are the strongest claims to national and individual happiness.
