The owner's wife was working at the store when two customers, a man and his son, entered to pick up a firearm that had been repaired.

"There was some contention about a $25 fee," Tucker said.

In an attempt to clear up the dispute, the woman called her husband, who later arrived with his son. An argument ensued between the owners and the customers.

"During this argument, we believe there might have been some pushing and shoving," Tucker said. "One of the customers and one of the owners produced firearms. We don't know who shot first."

All four men were shot. The two customers were airlifted to a hospital with life-threatening injuries, Tucker said.

Montana man who threatened to ‘execute school kids’ will be able to keep his guns — here’s why

Lenio is charged with felony intimidation after he posted threats on Twitter saying he was going to kill Jewish leaders and “execute grade school children,” adding, “I bet I’d take out at least a whole classroom and score 30-plus if I put my mind to it.”

According to a human rights group and two local rabbis, reducing charges to anything less than a felony would allow him to purchase and own more guns under current law.

Lenio, a restaurant cook, was arrested in February of last year after his roommate said that he had moved guns and ammunition into their apartment. He first came to the attention of authorities when Jonathan Hutson, who was a spokesman for the Brady Campaign at the time, alerted them to the online threats.

Initially jailed with bail set at $500,000, Lenio has since been released on his own recognizance and into the custody of his parents in Grand Rapids, Michigan.

A 48-year-old Maysville man and his wife were in bed and ready for sleep on the first day of 2016 when authorities said a metal object tore through the ceiling and hit the wife in the shoulder.

The couple gathered the piece of metal and determined it was a slug fired from a shotgun, according to a Jackson County Sheriff’s report.

There are no leads on who fired the gun shortly after midnight, but it could be celebratory gunfire due to a New Year’s Day celebration, according to sheriff’s Capt. Rich Lott.

“She was not hurt bad,” Lott said. The responding deputy examined the red mark on the woman’s shoulder and he also examined the hole in the ceiling where the slug apparently tore through the roof and entered the bedroom. The slug, a large projectile fired from a shotgun, was gathered as evidence.

On New Year’s Day in 2010, a bullet apparently from celebratory fire went through a roof in a Decatur church and hit a 4-year-old boy in the head killing him, according to Atlanta media reports. The Georgia Bureau of Investigation later released a statement that the bullet was likely fired from an AK-47.

A spokesman for Athens-Clarke police said a person caught firing guns in a celebratory fashion would likely be charged with reckless conduct.

Yeah, a misdemeanor.

At a time when kindergartners are being gunned down in classrooms and the scourge of mass shootings is on everyone’s mind, one Michigan man felt it was his duty to terrify the students and teachers in his child’s elementary school by bringing in a loaded pistol when he arrived. The school’s staff at Homer Community School District reportedly questioned his intentions with the gun – as seems reasonable when your job is to protect children from being shot – and the parent, whom the police have not identified, grew indignant. According to him, even being asked about his weapon violated his right to bear arms and he insisted that it was his “right to have it there.” He did, however, eventually leave.

He clearly gave it a lot of thought because he showed up to the school on Monday… still carrying his ****ing gun. The school’s staff, reasonably concluding that this could pose an unsafe situation for kids, were forced to lock down the entire school.

Although the parent was receptive and showed up to the school for the meeting with [Superintendent Robert] Wright, he brought a holstered gun again.

“And lo and behold, he showed up with his weapon holstered … it was never out of the holster,” Wright said. “And at that point I had to inform him that our protocol is that we go into lockdown just for pure safety of all of our students and staff, and so we went into lockdown at that point.”

“They asked him to sit in the front lobby and they went into lockdown,” Saxton said. “He left when he heard them go into lockdown.”

Insanely, this is considered “functional” in Michigan. The school was told by law enforcement officers to continue locking down the building each time someone comes into it with a gun. The law still says the school has to let those gun owners in. They legally aren’t allowed to enforce a rule that keeps guns out. And here we have another lesson in what it means to be free in America. Men are free to wander freely around an elementary school with a loaded weapon if they want to. Children are free to sit scared inside a locked classroom, avoiding windows and doors, waiting to find out if the guy outside is trying to murder them or just pick up his son or daughter for soccer practice.

Florida-based gun dealer known for supporting NRA is linked to weapon used in Paris terror attacks

One of the guns used by ISIS terrorists to slaughter 130 people in Paris was once owned by a Florida-based online firearms dealer with close ties to the NRA.

The M92 semiautomatic pistol — made by a Serbian arms factory — was imported into the U.S. by Century Arms, a Delray Beach-based company in 2013, the head of a Serbian arms factory revealed Friday to The Associated Press.

It remained unclear how the weapon made its way back across the Atlantic — and into the hands of Islamic militants.

Marc Adler, president of Allan Adler, a Boca Raton consulting firm that specializes in firearms, said legally taking a handgun out of the country involves reams of paperwork and approval by numerous federal agencies.

“The export of firearms is very heavily regulated,” Adler, who questions how the gun could have legally left the country, told the Palm Beach Post.

A Tennessee woman, who almost assuredly is “not racist,” was arrested for pulling a gun on a black man in a Walmart parking lot after he made the mistake of assuming she was the sort of person who would allow him to use her lighter to spark up a cigarette. Sherry McLain says she feared for her life, but authorities say that there was never any reason for her to fear when she was approached by her would-be victim.

“It scared me absolutely to death,” said McLain, who maintains that when she recklessly pulled out her firearm. She says she was loading groceries into her car in a crowded Walmart parking lot at around 4 p.m. Saturday. She says she was startled when a strange man approached her and began “hollering behind her.” Refusing to be a victim like a good little NRA acolyte, McClain pulled her weapon, but she says it was not enough to stop the hulking and scary 52-year-old black man from bothering her — James Crutchfield, she says, continued to approach her even after her weapon was drawn and she had told him to stop. McLain says that Crutchfield then moved away from her, toward another woman who was with a child “still hollering.”

To hear her tell her harrowing tale, she was lucky to escape the encounter with her life, but security footage, surely manufactured by the lamestream media to demonize gun owners, Crutchfield (surely a liar) and victims, who were likely paid off by one liberal cabal or another to lie about the situation, tell a different story.

Crutchfield did, indeed, approach her. He had just purchased a pack of cigarettes and forgot a lighter — one of the many downfalls of being a smoker. He says that the woman “immediately” pulled her gun on him and began screaming. And, of course, he did run — run — to another woman who did, indeed, have a child. The witness tells police that Crutchfield frantically approached her, yelling that McLain had a gun — one she was now pointing at Crutchfield, the witness, and the witness’ child. After asking her to call police, she says Crutchfield ran back into the store.

Bombshell Study: Gun Owners Tend to Be Angry, Unstable, Impulsive

No big surprise, but a study has found if you have several guns then you are more likely to have anger issues.

The study was conducted by researchers from universities including Duke and Harvard. The findings were published in the journal, Behavioral Sciences and the Law and showed more importance and focus should be placed on individuals with a “history of violent behavior” and “less on diagnosed mental illness” when trying to reduce gun violence.

The study also found that guns are “disproportionately owned” by those who are more likely to have trouble with anger management and impulse control. The LA times reported:

“…people owning six or more guns were more likely to fall into both of these categories than people who owned a single gun.”

A 33-year-old man has been named as the crazed gunman who randomly killed three people in broad daylight on Halloween before being fatally shot by police, the Colorado Springs Gazette reports.

Noah Harpham, a Colorado Springs resident, battled addiction and recently authored rambling blogs about his father and religion, the Gazette reports.

The shootings happened Saturday at about 8:45 a.m., Colorado Springs Police said. The gunman was heavily armed as he walked down the street. He shot a bicyclist first, and then killed two women, KKTV reports. He was then chased by responding officers and gunned down in a shootout. Police have been tight-lipped about the case, refusing to provide details or identities of those involved until autopsies are completed.

Harpham has no criminal record, except for a 2003 speeding ticket in Oregon.

His mother, Laurel Harper wrote about her passion for firearms in online postings to Yahoo! Answers three years ago. "I keep all my mags full. I keep two full mags in my Glock case. And the ARs & AKs all have loaded mags," she wrote, referring to magazines of ammunition, a Glock handgun and military-style rifles. 

"No one will be 'dropping' by my house uninvited without acknowledgement," the post went on to say. Another post criticizes another person over poor judgement using "airsoft" pellet guns, and emphasizes gun safety. 


Harper did not return phone calls and emails from NBC News. The email address used in some of the postings appears to be linked to her. 

In another post nine years ago about autism, Laurel Harper said: "My son has Asperger's. He's no babbling idiot nor is his life worthless. He's very intelligent and is working on a career in film making." 

A note was found at the scene of the rampage in which Christopher Harper-Mercer said he was "in a bad way" and was depressed, law enforcement officials said. His mother told investigators that he struggled with mental health issues, The Associated Press reported.

One of what I am guessing to be our safest, most responsible citizens EVAH who knows one must always be in Condition White or be a parasite on society was pumping gas on Saturday night when a carjacking occurred. Being a good guy with a gun, he immediately intervened and opened fire on the attackers, when the utterly predictable happened:

When the assailants attempted to take his truck, a witness parked at the gas pump started shooting at the men, according to authorities.
Police said he accidentally shot the victim in the head.

Slow clap. Thanks for playing! Next time let them have the goddamn car. It’s easier to get a new car than a new brain.

I love this report not only because it illustrates what I'm always showing - that guns do more harm than good - but that it debunks the long-standing pro-gun lie that only cops do this kind of thing. Civilian gun owners, according to the gun rights fanatics, have never shot the wrong person in an attempted DGU.

Irresponsible North Carolina Gun Owner Shoots His Brother - No Charges - It Was Just an Accident

Sheriff Donnie Harrison said 20-year-old David Padron was disassembling a gun and didn't realize it was loaded before it went off. The bullet hit his brother, 22-year-old Jesus Padron.

"He was just taking the bullets out of his weapon because there were kids in the house and he wanted to make sure it was empty," said Sheriff Harrison.

All of this happened just after noon.

At last check, Jesus Padron was responsive before being take to WakeMed for surgery.

The sheriff said they are investigating but at this time believe it was an accidental shooting. No one was arrested.

TSA Finds Record Number Of Guns At Airport Security Checkpoints

U.S. airport security agents discovered a record 67 firearms in luggage passengers intended to carry on to airplanes during one week in September, according to the Transportation Security Administration (TSA).

Of the 67 firearms found during the week ended Sept. 17, 56 were loaded and 26 had a round in the chamber, the TSA reported. The tally set a new weekly record. The prior record was 65 firearms found during a week in May 2013, TSA said.


For the most recent week, ending Sept. 24, TSA said it found 64 firearms in carry-on bags at airports. Of those, 55 were loaded and 22 had a round chambered, TSA said.


In July, new TSA Administrator Peter Neffenger told a congressional panel that his top priority would be to close security gaps at airport checkpoints.


Lawmakers opened a U.S. House of Representatives hearing after a Department of Homeland Security report that found TSA airport screeners did not detect banned weapons in 67 of 70 tests at dozens of airport checkpoints.

Maybe our resident math whiz can tell us what the estimate would be based on that little 67 out of 70 stat. And I know he'll follow that with the observation that in spite of all those guns on planes there has been no bad result, presumably showing that guns on planes is a good thing. Well, needless to say, I and many others don't agree.

A Florida deputy was shot from behind and killed after serving a domestic violence injunction Tuesday morning, the Okaloosa County Sheriff's Office said.

Deputy Bill Myers, 64, was working in Shalimar when he was struck by multiple bullets, including in his head and back.

The suspect, Joel Dixon Smith, was later killed in a hotel shootout with a tactical team, officials said.

Myers had served the papers, which prohibited Smith from having contact with his spouse, at the office of the suspect's lawyer and had talked to the suspect about surrendering his firearms, the sheriff said.

BARTLETT, Tenn. — Four more guns are in the wrong hands on Mid-South streets Wednesday.
Bartlett Police confirmed three cars were broken into over the weekend and four guns were stolen.
One of the victims agreed to speak with WREG to prevent this from happening to others. He said he did not want to be identified because the crook or crooks are still out there.
“My stomach dropped. My heart sank,” he said.
The gun owner recalled the moment he saw the holster in his car was empty Sunday. The rag he used to cover the handle of the gun was on the seat.

Police reports showed that all three cars that were broken into over the weekend were parked at home. Police reports suggested at least two of the three cars were left unlocked.
The man we spoke with admitted he left his car unlocked because he felt his neighborhood was very safe.

If your neighborhood is so safe, why the hell do you need a gun in the first place?

Alabama Church Shooting - 3 Injured

Witnesses told police that Minter entered the church and sat in the front row between his girlfriend and the baby, according to a statement released by the Selma Police Department. Minter then pulled out a handgun and started shooting, the statement said. The girlfriend fell to the ground, and Minter fired at her, striking her in the jaw and shoulder. The baby, a 1-month-old boy, was shot in the hand.

The church's pastor then grabbed Minter and was shot in the leg. Members of the congregation helped subdue Minter and managed to wrest away his gun, according to police. Minter then ran out of the church.

Oklahoma 16-Year-old Shoots Himself in the Leg for the Second Time in Three Months

A 16-year-old boy from Tulsa, Oklahoma was rushed to the hospital on Monday after accidentally shooting himself in the leg. According to Tulsa World, officers were called to the scene of the accident, a private residence, and found the teen on a bed soaked with blood. Suspecting that the bullet had severed an artery, officers quickly stopped the bleeding with a tourniquet and had the boy transported to a hospital, where he was listed in serious condition.

Strangely enough, the Tulsa Police Department claims that this is not the first time the teen has been involved in an accidental shooting. Roughly three months ago the boy had also shot himself in the leg with a handgun. At the time, officers investigated the case but found the injury to be not life-threatening. The department did not offer details on the aftermath of the investigation but did say that the handgun was confiscated and remained at the police station. Officials did not specify if the teen or his parents will face any charges.

At least this time, the boy was fortunate that police arrived when they did. Officials said in a news release that the teen was found conscious but incoherent in his residence. The victim had lost a lot of blood, which could cause dizziness, shortness of breath, and even hypovolemic shock in more serious cases.
