If guns could have prevented the Holocaust as gunloons assert, why do almost all of the major Jewish organizations favor gun control? Why does the NRA list these groups as "enemies?"
CCW holders often claim they need guns to protect themselves and their families when they are out in public. Yet, the wives and children of these gunloons rarely have CCW permits. Does this mean the CCW holder is with his wife and children 24/7?
Gunloons claim they need firearms to prevent "tyranny." But who gets to decide when tyranny exists? After all, NRA member Timmy McVeigh decided the Govt ahd lapsed into tyranny. Things did not go his way.
Gunloons claim to revere Democracy and freedom. But is a society truly democratic and free when partisans insist on waving firearms during political rallies?
Jade: “Gunloons claim they need firearms to prevent "tyranny." But who gets to decide when tyranny exists? After all, NRA member Timmy McVeigh decided the Govt ahd lapsed into tyranny. Things did not go his way.”
ReplyDeleteWell, when it is one person (or a group of people), the government throws them in jail. When it is millions of people, the government has a problem on their hands.
I don’t why I bothered answering, since the question was not directed at me.
"If guns could have prevented the Holocaust as gunloons assert, why do almost all of the major Jewish organizations favor gun control?"
ReplyDeleteBecause those groups are composed of professional victims. What better way to promote victimhood than to ensure that more people are disarmed?
"Why does the NRA list these groups as "enemies?""
Because the NRA doesn't like anti-gun loons.
"Does this mean the CCW holder is with his wife and children 24/7?"
No.
"But who gets to decide when tyranny exists?"
The tyrants.
"But is a society truly democratic and free when partisans insist on waving firearms during political rallies?"
Yes.
Az Red: So Jews are "professional victims?"
ReplyDeleteOr are you saying major Jewish organizations wish for another Holocaust?
Whoa. Easy on the Jews Jade. Not all Jewish organizations favor gun control (as you define it). Do you consider Israel a Jewish organization? I'm sure you're more than familiar with the JPFO. And I know plenty of Jews who are gun clingers extraordinaire, both individually and within groups of like-minded Tribes members.
ReplyDeleteBut to answer your question, these Jewish orgs are utopians. Same affliction that led so many Jews to become communists and fellow travelers.
As for the NRA considering Jewish pro-gun control groups "enemies," I'm sure they consider other similar groups equally "misguided" (I don't recall the NRA using such inflammatory language, although they may have said that they're enemies of freedom, which, in this case, they are.)
Again, please drop the "gunloons" epithet. It does nothing to foster civilized debate, which you must value if you think political rallies should be firearms free.
Israel is a Zionist organisation in te truest sense of the word, a body set up to provide for a "homeland" for the Jews. And the term Zionist does not imply that one is Jewish since there are probably more "Christian Zionists" than Jewish ones.

Israel would not have a need for arms had it not perpetrated the ultimate hypocracy of Al-nakba.
Never again, my arse. It's OK if it's Jews perpetrating the Ethnic Cleansing of Palestinians.
"CCW holders often claim they need guns to protect themselves and their families when they are out in public. Yet, the wives and children of these gunloons rarely have CCW permits. Does this mean the CCW holder is with his wife and children 24/7?"
ReplyDeletePretty much at least 25-28 days a month.
"After all, NRA member Timmy McVeigh decided the Govt ahd lapsed into tyranny."
I really don't believe McVeigh was an NRA member.
"But is a society truly democratic and free when partisans insist on waving firearms during political rallies?"
Where did you see this happen? Iran? In the US I saw some folks where guns in a holster or slung over a shoulder but I never saw any news coverage of a political rally where "guns were being waved around".
Of course you've never been overly concerned with the truth.
RF: Whoa, yourself.
ReplyDeleteAs I posted "almost all of the major Jewish organizations" favor gun control. I'm confident this is 100% accurate.
I'm equally sure there are some small fringe groups--like JPFO--who may dissent. Of course, JPFO is a small fringe outfit whose following is not Jewish. Let's face it--rural Wisconsin is not exactly West 47th Street in NYC.
It's pretty scary that you claim to want civilised debate when you smear organizations--major Jewish organizations--as communist sympathizers.
"Az Red: So Jews are "professional victims?"
ReplyDeleteOr are you saying major Jewish organizations wish for another Holocaust?"
No. I'm saying those organizations are composed of professional victims. Since all Jews are not members of those organizations, not all Jews are professional victims.
What I find interesting is Jadegold's second point in the post.
ReplyDelete"CCW holders often claim they need guns to protect themselves and their families when they are out in public. Yet, the wives and children of these gunloons rarely have CCW permits. Does this mean the CCW holder is with his wife and children 24/7?"
I don't think I've heard the response to that one even though I've seen it raised a time or two.
MikeB: “I don't think I've heard the response to that one even though I've seen it raised a time or two.”
ReplyDeleteThat is because it doesn’t deserve a response. It is an inane question. What is he saying- that because someone is not with their family 24/7 they shouldn’t look out for their safety with appropriate measures when they are? Should one stand and watch as a loved one gets assaulted by saying, “screw em- what if I wasn’t here?” I supposed we shouldn’t buckle children in our cars either given that they don’t wear seat belts on school buses.
I don't have to be with my wife 24-7, because she carries, too. We both take lawfully armed self-defense very seriously, and protecting our children will be something we'll have to discuss when we get to that point in our lives.
ReplyDeleteAs usual, I'm sure Guy has statistics to back up his claims that "wives and children...rarely have CCW permits." Oh wait, that's right...
Also, it's currently illegal in most (all?) jurisdictions for "children" under the age of 18 (and pretty difficult for anyone under 21 as well) to concealed carry. Are you actually advocating for expanding this right then, Guy?
TS and Colin, I think the idea is not so foolish as to be dismissed. Many gun owners who talk all that protecting-the-family stuff are out with the boys more than they're home with the family. At the risk of offending, I think that type is more typical than what you guys sound like. I know you take these kinds of observations personally, which I really dont't understand.
ReplyDeleteIf you look at gun owners as a population in its entirety, I'm sure there's lots of guys with the 12 ga. under the bed or the .357 in the nightstand to "protect the family" and that's about it. However, if you look at CCW permit holders in particular, I would be willing to bet you that my wife and I are, if not in the majority, at least a significantly represented minority amongst avid self-defense advocates.
ReplyDeleteColin, Sorry but I lost the point a little bit. In what way are you and your wife "at least a significantly represented minority amongst avid self-defense advocates."
