If that chart is supposed to support a call for gun control, it is pretty damn weak. In 30 years only 4 are given a name. 3 years have nothing and 17 years are under 20.
What we see here is a constant level of these events, with the rare spike in casualties. When you consider that the U.S. population in 1982 was about 232,000,000 and now is well over 300,000,000, these data actually show a slow decline.
