Not an idiot at all. He has a good grasp of the law for an average person. The idea that you do not have to obey an unconstitutional law is well established in American jurisprudence. It is also a long-standing moral position that was cited by Dr. King and others when they violated certain laws during the Civil Rights Movement.
My problem with this guy is that he uses the Constitution for the basis of his 2A belief, yet totally ignored that same document and its decree that only Congress can declare war. The army and Marines are not Obama's or any presidents personal army.orlin sellers
Orlin,You're correct to point out inconsistent application of the Constitution. If we're not careful, we're all susceptible to this. The cure is thoughtful and careful pointing out of the inconsistencies. (That and self study and reflection is what brought me around from my early neo-con tendencies.)Thanks for stating your objection in a diplomatic way--too often we shoot ourselves in the foot by coming on too strong and expecting others to be at our level of understanding, whatever that level is.
Here's a Marine who remains true to his oath and to the spirit of America. Feinstein is a liar who is ready to violate her similar oath. What else needs to be said?
