My comment:
Are you really saying Shapiro did a smack down to Piers Morgan? I didn’t
see it that way. I thought it was a very evenly matched debate with
neither guy overwhelming the other but the main points were won by
Piers. The part about left vs. right, using Ronald Reagan as an
example, made Shapiro look stupid. And the final minutes in which Piers
got Shapiro to repeat his ridiculous and paranoid justification for
owning an AR-15.
“People aren’t stupid, they can make up their own minds.”
I am in rare agreement with (the rather awful) Peirs Mogan that ordinary civilians have no need and cannot be trusted with professional-grade weapons (such as the M-16 or "AR-15" for all you wannabees who aren't trusted with real firepower), which is designed, manufactured, and should be reserved for......professionals. I say this (in anonymity do to the nature of my occupation) as someone who is entrusted with YOUR very safety, that ordinary civilians shouldn't be allowed to play with the big boy toys.
ReplyDeleteThanks for coming by. I hope we hear more from you, you sound like an interesting guy.
DeleteGKO-45, no thanks for your service. Ordinary citizens have basic rights, and if you really have the kind of job that you hint at having, you swore an oath to defend those rights. But in reality, you sound like a new name for someone else we've met here.
DeleteI protect society, as the seargent of a specialized tactical response security team charged with the security of one the nation's most dangerous malls. On duty, I carry an FN SCAR, two Glock 17s, a FN Five-Seven, and a MP5-K just in case. In the face of numerous armed threats from Korean gangs and Russian mafia donning UZIs as well as AK and AR variants, I train myself daily in the art of Ninjutsu, adapting the ancient techniques to suit the kevlar body armour that I wear daily, in anticipation of the next machinegun-weilding crackhead rampage. Wanabes like you can go and strap on some silly little civvie-legal toy and parade around, but if (and more likley when) you go bad, real professionals like me have to clean up the mess.
DeleteAh, you're a Mall Ninja. Yep, Mikeb, a very interesting guy indeed. LOL!
DeleteROFLMFAO!
DeleteWelcome to the conversation Gecko45! My question is, Are you the Real Gecko or are you a copycat? If you're the real one, how's the weather in Knoxville? If you're not, it's not nice to borrow trolls' handles.
Mike,
Sad to say you appear to have been victimized by the most EPIC troll in the gun community. This is the first time I've seen him advocate for gun control though. If you want to know about him, just Google Gecko45.
Greg,
I've been wondering if E.N. is a persona of the same person who created Gecko45. Different aims for the most part, but the same over the top insanity.
GKO-45, I don’t understand what you mean by this:
Delete“that ordinary civilians have no need and cannot be trusted with professional-grade weapons (such as the M-16 or "AR-15" for all you wannabees who aren't trusted with real firepower)…”
You just said a semi-automatic is not “real firepower” at the same time you are saying civilians should not be entrusted with professional grade weapons. It seems your desire is already met.
Jim,
DeleteHe's not A mall ninja. He's THE mall ninja. Gecko45 was the one who the term was originated for.
Tennesseean, the wave of revelation just hit me. Yup, this guy's a legend--a legend of idiocy, but whatever works, right? If the current commentor is a copycat, he's an example of the pathetic person who can't choose good people to copy.
DeleteAh, but still, the thought that we're about to get another troll barrage from the infamous Gecko45 is amusing.
Oh, that's even better. Mikeb has made the big time at last.
DeleteG-Camp:
Delete"a legend of idiocy"
Call me an idiot after I save your fat ass's virginity from a gang of disgruntled machete-wielding hobos dressed in dirty santa suits! Fat welfare grubs such as yourself depend on the protection of "mall ninjas" (I have mastered the art of Ninjutsu, and I command a elite posse of snipers, tactical-minigunners, swordsman, and explosives experts, trained in a stealthy, yet brutal armed response) to prevent your daily life from being ruled by armed thugs. Public police are often ignorant, under-equipped, and poorly trained. You all depend on REAL security to protect all your flabby asses!
Ok, now I think you're just some asshole who stole Gecko45's handle. You're like a bad parody of the real Gecko we have all learned to love--that or you're just out of practice in this persona.
Delete1. Shapiro is correct to say that handguns are the major part of gun violence.
ReplyDelete2. Mass shootings are rare, especially compared to ordinary murder.
3. I should be allowed to buy all the Sudafed that I want. Our drug laws are as stupid as the proposed gun control.
4. Shapiro goes wrong when he says he'd support registration. We've discussed that before.
5. Morgan fails to understand that the Bill of Rights is not a Bill of Needs. A typical deer rifle--a bolt-action centerfire rifle--is functionally identical with rifles that the military and police still use. If we ban guns on the principle that it is like a military arm, we have to ban all guns.
6. Morgan is impossible to talk to, since he talks over the guests and refuses to listen. He's far too impressed with the sound of his own voice.
I have to say, when you have a British citizen use a scolding tone to refer an American's citation of the Constitution as him "Waving his little book around," the irony is wonderfully thick and sweet.
ReplyDeleteI think the only thing I've ever seen that beats this was Andrew Sullivan telling the Tea Party that they needed to be more like the Tories.
That's right! We cant just let them Canadians build nuclear weapons and march right over us! If California wants to start a war with America, then we need to march over there with our guns and our nascar-tanks and get back for 9-11 and pearl harbor!
DeleteHello, new troll!
DeleteThese trolls need to try harder. They're either blitheringly stupid or desperately wacky.
DeleteI know; I can at least appreciate E.N. and the REAL Gecko45 as artists plying their trade with some level of skill.
DeleteBigbubba seems afraid of being mistaken for one of us, so he goes so over the top that it's not good parody.
Piers Moron asks why a civilian would need an AR-15, here is Billy Beck to explain it to him and his silly assault weapon question:
ReplyDelete"There is a ghastly ahistoricity in these complaints against the antiquity of the Second Amendment. What very few understand is the power-relations of the progression of arms in the past five hundred years. In 1789, the flintlock musket was the "assault weapon" of its day. It was every bit as dangerous and menacing then as the AR-15 is now. Anyone who doubts this need only reflect upon the fact that civilians took their weapons into battle against the greatest military power in the world, and prevailed."
So, the musket was the AR-15 of its day and the founders did indeed say, your right to assault weapons shall not be infringed. End of story. Case Closed.
