The group finally starts to discuss a very real problem at the end of the video: almost everyone expects someone else to take care of their problems. They also realized that expecting someone else to take care of their problems is doomed to fail.
The irony is so thick you could slice it with a knife. Many people claim that they want to end violence and believe that gun control -- civilian disarmament -- is the solution. But who wants gun control? People who do not own guns. And their solution to end violence requires someone else (both citizens and criminals who own guns) to do something (give them up). They already admitted in their video interview that such an approach is doomed to fail.
More importantly, it is morally wrong to expect someone else to do something to fix your problem. It is YOUR responsibility to take actions to address YOUR problem. If your problem is personal security (or lack thereof), it is your problem to improve it. Your solution to your personal security cannot require the voluntary cooperation of millions of strangers and criminals. That solution is guaranteed to fail and absolutely foolish. Oh, and did I mention that such a solution infringes on other people's rights?
Is there something new here?
