Mitch McConnell Compared to Al-Qaeda

Unlike the Hitler and Pol Pot comparisons that the gun-rights fanatics like so much, this one makes perfect sense.

What do you think? Please leave a comment.

  1. Is that the same al Qaeda that the Commander-in-Chief is supplying arms to in Syria, illegally?

  2. That's hilarious. I thought we on the pro-liberty, anti-genocidal tyranny side had gotten all the mileage we were going to get out of Gadahn's ridiculous lie about getting a "fully-automatic assault rifle without a background check" at a gun show, and the forcible citizen disarmament lobby's mindless trumpeting of the same lie.

And here you silly dipshits bring it up again, after all this time. Classic. Keep talking, herbivore (and friends)--you do our job for us.

By the way, in the nearly two years since the Gadahn lie went public, how many jihadists have used gun show-bought firepower to kill a bunch of us infidels, thus guaranteeing them an eternal account with the 72 Virgin Dating Service?

Oh--that would be zero, wouldn't it?

    1. You're purposely missing the point. The lack of background checks on private sales allows criminals, and terrorists, to get guns easier.

    2. I still want to know. Are we going to eventually see terrorists taking advantage of this "loophole"?

A couple years ago, the New York Times went into screaming, pants-wetting hysterics because 247 people on the terrorist "watch list" legally bought guns.

Care to guess what NYT could not scream about? The number of terrorist attacks carried out by these "suspected terrorists," using the guns they had bought. What made screaming about that impossible is that the number is the rather non-frightening (even to sniveling cowards like "gun control" supporters) zero.

And we could go back further to expand on those numbers:

Between February 2004 and December 2010, 1,453 people on the terror watch list have attempted to buy firearms or explosives. Of those, 90 percent of the people were allowed to go through with their purchases.

Heard of any incidents of terrorism committed by these folks? Neither have I.

    3. Because criminals routinely shop at licensed dealers or at gun shows. Please, Mikeb, do they buy cocaine at the same locations?

  3. So the comparison is valid because you agree with it? Sorry, that's not how this works.

A comparison is valid when there is supporting evidence. To you, believing in fundamental rights is akin to being a terrorist. To us, violating fundamental rights is akin to the worst tyrannies. At least we have good reasons for our belief.

    1. The comparison is valid because both of them want the ability to buy guns privately with no background check.

In that case, you are much like the Ahmadinejad regime in Iran, since you both favor more oppressive gun laws in the U.S.
