The Presidential Reaction as Reported on The Truth About Guns

As reported on TTAG, where you can always have a ball reading the comments.

from the paranoid Silver

We have a rare and terrifying glimpse into this sociopathic madman’s true character. He’s only ever passionate when he’s denied being a tyrant, denied the ability to steal people’s human rights. You can practically hear him…”They DARE? They DARE DENY ME?!”

I’ll be blunt…I 100 percent expect a false flag in the near future.

to the thoughtful tk

You know, I am going to go out on a limb and say this is going to bite us in the ass big time. We won this round, but I think just like the tabacoo stuff this may be a phyric victory.

To the super-Obama-hater DB

I loathe the guy with every ounce but I must say this was the first time I’ve heard him speak with any degree of honesty and passion. He has ladled out the phoniness for five years running, but this is the first time I’ve detected sincerity in his voice. It was lecturing, hectoring, pompous, dismissive, but it was deeply heartfelt.

to the gloating and shining examples of  the Armed Inteligentsia Scott and Duzt

He appears a bit butthurt, LOL.

is uncle joe literally crying? ill sleep good tonight if i can stop laughing like a giddy school girl

  1. I have to say, watching that presser, with the Prez so angry and Joe pouting behind him was quite satisfying.

Of course, I'm not going to be surprised if tk is right and something else comes up to sucker punch us--my guess would be some type of overreaching executive orders--the type we feared and you were disappointed not to get back in January.

But for now, I'll bask in the glow of a win. Your side had a big push in December, but sanity prevailed. If you couldn't get even '93 all over again with that push and all that pressure from Bloomberg and the media, it doesn't bode well for your side in the coming electoral cycles, so it seems like the only way you're going to get what you want is by unconstitutional executive overreach.

    1. I tend to agree. I lived in the Chicago metro area for 3 years back in the 90s. One of the things I observed was that Chicago politicians (of which our current President is a prime example) do not lose graciously. When they can't achieve what they want through legitimate means, they are quite willing to use other methods.

    3. Yes, Anonymous, he was a part of the problem too. Both parties are.

  2. Remind me whom he works for. Oh, yes, the people. The people don't want his control.

  3. Ever wonder what's going through Joe's mind during this?

  4. Man--I'm just having way too much fun with this. Let's see why:

    1) The aftermath of perhaps the highest profile mass shooting in U.S. history

    2) The multi-billionaire mayor of some town in NY state spending millions to buy the forcible citizen disarmament tyranny for which he lusts

    3) A virulently anti-gun Democrat president, in his second term (no longer accountable to voters, and thus with no need to pretend to be anything but virulently anti-gun)

    4) A Democrat majority Senate

    5) You guys even reanimated Sen. Lautenberg's decaying, reeking corpse, and dragged it to D.C. to vote for the new infringements on that which shall not be infringed

And you came up with NOTHING. That either takes a truly special level of political incompetence, or "gun control" ain't what America wants.

Then again, no reason to think that those two possibilities are mutually exclusive.

  5. I don't care who you are--this is as funny as Joe Biden giving self-defense advice.

  6. Here's an interesting question, if the heinous infringements that died a so richly deserved death yesterday are so popular with the American people, why does one of the legislation's most enthusiastic cheerleaders claim it would pass overwhelmingly if not for voters' ability to hold the Senators accountable?

Mark Kelly, the astronaut husband of former congresswoman Gabrielle Giffords, on Thursday upbraided senators who voted against gun legislation by saying they voted “out of fear.”

”If that vote had been a secret ballot, I bet you it would have passed with 80 votes,” Kelly told reporters.
