Texas 2-Year-old Dead because his Daddy Did Not Secure his Gun Properly

Local news reports

A toddler died late Wednesday after accidentally shooting himself.

Kinsler Allen Davis, 2, was taken to Navarro Regional Hospital and then flown by helicopter to Children's Medical Center in Dallas, where doctors pronounced him dead.

A preliminary investigation shows the boy found the handgun inside a bedroom and fired it. The bullet hit him in the head, Chief Bratton said. The boy's father was in another room of the house when the shooting happened.

Why was dad not arrested and charged?

  1. Why are you sexist?

You assume that the gun belongs to the father, as opposed to his mother, his grandmother, the dog walking neighborhood stalker, or an ex-KGB assassin who they had the misfortune to hire as a cleaning lady.

    Wait for the facts.

    1. You're right, both parents and any older siblings should be whisked off to jail immediatley that night. Or maybe the arresting officers could make the simple assessment of who's gun it was. This is where registration and licensing would help, but in most cases it wouldn't be difficult to determine even without those common sense regulations.
