Adam Kokesh–self-described “libertarian propagandist,” Iraq war veteran, and host of the online show Adam vs. The Man–seems to have carried out his promise to buck Washington D.C.’s gun laws and load a shotgun in the district’s Freedom Plaza during an apparent one-man July 4th protest against the government.
In a video titled, “Open Carry March on DC a Success,” posted on Kokesh’s YouTube account Thursday, the 31-year-old packs bullets into a shotgun while simultaneously reciting the last few lines of his “Final American Revolution Pledge of Resistance,” posted on his blog.
“We will not be silent, we will not obey, we will not allow our government to destroy our humanity,” says Kokesh. “We are the final American Revolution. See you next Independence Day.”

That fiend!!!
ReplyDeleteI'm glad they caught him back in '06 for putting up those terrible assault posters. I wonder if he used a high capacity tape dispenser, or even worse a, "gasp" staple gun.
You did a masterful job today of avoiding showing the true subject of the article which was about the police investigating the video that Kokesh made.
Um, Mikeb, that arrest was almost seven years ago, and it was for testing the limits of what our government will allow with regard to free speech. That was a protest against Bush, by the way. But hey, in the interests of justice, we should arrest everyone who appears to violate D.C.'s gun laws in a video, right? Unless, of course, the person doing it is in favor of those laws.
ReplyDeleteTell me this: Have you read the article on his webpage? He takes a number of positions that you've agreed with in the past, including opposition to drone strikes, to wars for special interests, to financial crimes that go unpunished, and so forth. The man has a lot in common with you.
I know he's a big anti-war guy. I also agree with you on some things, but gun-rights fanaticism is where I draw the line.
DeleteThat's embarrassing. I thought this happened after the video. I should have noticed the difference in his appearance.
