The judge is not stupid. She knows the trial is not only going to be reviewed later but that it's being televised live. Nothing she says or does is by mistake. So why on earth would she do and say things like this?
I think she's purposely giving Zimmerman's team grounds for appeal in the unlikely event that he is convicted.
What else could explain such bizarre behavior?

Mike,
ReplyDeleteYour link isn't working, but from what I saw of the video on another site, it seemed like she just didn't want to hear what the defense was arguing about the pace of the trial.
"I think she's purposely giving Zimmerman's team grounds for appeal in the unlikely event that he is convicted."
I'm sure there will be an appeal even without the judge's behavior. So can you share why you believe this assertion? Why would the judge do such a thing?
First of all, I think he'll be acquitted which will make this discussion academic. I can't imagine why she would act that badly, opening up good grounds for a reversal on appeal. When faced with that, I ask the famous "cui bono" question. It does seem like a pretty wild conspiracy, but what else can explain what she did?
DeleteI think she's purposely giving Zimmerman's team grounds for appeal in the unlikely event that he is convicted.
ReplyDeleteNow that's comedic gold. The judge is doing everything in her power to tilt the odds in favor of the prosecution--because she wants Mr. Zimmerman to go free.
Have you asked the Onion if they need another writer, Mikeb?
Seriously, Kurt, how do you explain the judge's odd behavior?
DeleteMikeb, it's cute how you are committed to your pet conspiracy theories, but you believe that the government is here to protect us.
DeleteI think many conspiracy theories have merit.
DeleteMikeb, I already have no respect for your knowledge and intelligence. Why do you have to dig the hole deeper?
DeleteThe case should have never come to trial, and she knows it, but was cowed by the justice department, the press, and the perpetual grief-mongers represented by Jesse Jackson and AL Sharpton.
ReplyDeleteThis is a textbook example of ass covering, pure and simple.
