Karl Pierson and shooting victim Claire Davis
Business Insider
The 18-year-old Colorado high school student who shot a classmate in the head and then killed himself in the school's library on Friday legally purchased a gun one week before the attack, ABC News reports.
Karl Pierson's target was reportedly a faculty member at Arapahoe High School in Centennial, Colo., but the number of weapons he had on him suggested that he intended to harm more people.
"His intent was evil and his evil intent was to harm multiple individuals," Arapahoe County Sheriff Grayson Robinson said during a press conference Saturday.
Anyone over the age of 18 can legally buy a shotgun in Colorado, according to the Associated Press.

ReplyDeleteThat is correct, he's called an adult. He bought the shotgun at a store and presumably underwent the required background check.
Yes, indeed, another lawful gun owner who's gone over to the dark side.
DeleteThis legal adult went out and committed murder. Egged on by guys like you who promote lax laws and aggressive gun use. I understand ex-military have been taught to kill, killed, and love it.
Delete" I understand ex-military have been taught to kill, killed, and love it. "
DeleteAnon, by accounts in the news, this man was never in the military and held outspoken liberal/progressive views.
I was talking about ex-military gun loons like you.
DeleteI see, but I'm not ex yet Anon...
DeleteThat just makes my point better. Ex-military are usually less aggressive about guns than current servers.
DeleteI don't see the military connection. The influence comes from the gun fanatics. That's why I always blame them.
DeleteThe gun culture is propagated by the hero worship of the military and its goal of killing, whoever that may be, even if they did nothing wrong to us (Iraq). We make heroes out of killers so we can get our young people to kill for us. Everyone wants to be a hero, right.
DeleteThe military is Commanded by the President, with oversight by congress. Interestingly, both our former Secretary of State, Hillary Clinton and our current Vice President voted in favor of operations in Iraq.
DeleteNice to know you understand the command structure. The fact it has nothing to do with anons comment, just shows what a deceitful person you are. Bush was proven a liar (like you) and he is considered a war criminal in many countries just as Cheney and Rummy are.
DeleteThe gun culture in America, is due partially to the hero worship of men trained to kill. Killing makes heroes and we have plenty of national awards to prove that.
If you are old enough to kill for your country, you are old enough to kill your countrymen.
ReplyDeleteAs often happens in these events, details can take some time to come out. I'm suspecting that it might take some time for corroboration on this claim to come out since the school administration seems to have "lawyered up", much like the college where James Holms went to school when questioned about the results of the threat assessment done after some of his strange behavior at school.
ReplyDelete"Rust claims he and other security guards at the school expressed concern to school administrators prior to the Dec. 13 shooting in regards to a death threat allegedly made by Pierson directly to speech coach Tracy Murphy, as well as “symbols” the teen drew on his math tests and his recurring use of the word “comrade.”
