  1. A peaceable assembly is not a bunch of gun carrying citizens.
There is no need to bring your gun to a public town hall discussion on health care. There is no need to bring your gun to a town hall meeting.
There is no need to bring your gun to church.
There is no need to bring your gun to a coffee shop.
If you are so afraid to go out in public, that you have to bring a gun, then stay home; or be a real man and face the public without your gun.

Ah, the old "be a man" argument. That argument suggests that the bigger more powerful person will always be in the right, or those with more friends than you. I'm always impressed by people that think I should be obligated to engage in a fair fight with someone who commit violence against me or my family.

    1. What fight, ss? What fight are you talking about? The one in your imagination that MIGHT happen at any time?

    2. Mike, many seem to think that Carrying a firearm implies that I'm warily looking around every corner and looking over my shoulder. That simply isn't true, any more than say, an off duty cop who likely also carries.
How is it that if he does it, its ok, and if I do there is that suggestion of constant fear of some sort that in fact doesn't really exist.

    3. It's an irrational fear that you have to bring your gun everywhere you go in public to feel safe.Yes, man up. Crime is way down, it's your fear that is way up. If that's not true why do you need to bring your gun everywhere, including places that have asked you not to?

    4. ss, you mentioned the off-duty cop but you failed to mention the ill-intentioned criminal. He carries a gun just like you too. The problem is all three of these types are indistinguishable from one another.

  3. I would bet you could easily find examples of people being attacked in every location you mention as not needing a gun. So the question is, why do you support people willingly leaving themselves at the mercy of a criminal when there is a legal, constitutionally guaranteed, right to keep a weapon on them if they so choose?

    1. You are more likely to be killed by many other incidents (cars, workplace, falls, etc., etc..) than by gun shot. Don't leave the house.
