When I was 16, I was in love with a girl named Jackie Tapp whose best friend was named Velvet Savage...too cool for real...Velvet had 2 sisters named Crystal and Tweed, but back to Jackie, she totally modeled herself on Diana Ross, the hair, the attitude...so I would do anything to hang around her... Velvet lived in the house back of the Motown Studios in Detroit on the next street, so the yards were ajoining and we would hang out in her back yard and got to see photo shoots with Marvin Gaye, Martha and the Vandellas, Stevie Wonder and being neighbors...we got to meet a lot of the stars...but the biggest day was meeting the Supremes and going over in the yard... This was the music that was Detroit back in the 60's and to e it will always be that way.
