Texas Open Carry Nuts Get Slapped Down

11 comments:

  1. If you are OK with a perfect stranger walking up to your car holding a gun, then why carry a gun at all? You have no idea if their intentions are good, or evil. If you ASSume their intentions are good, then you don't need a gun. Seems to me that a stranger approaching me with a gun, is the perfect time for me to have a gun, and I would be stupid to ASSume his intentions are peaceful. A citizen is perfectly correct to fear a stranger approaching them with a gun, especially in today's culture of gun violence. It would be a little late to find out that stranger wanted to shot me, or just hand me a flier. Don't I have a right to defend myself against a stranger approaching me with a gun? In a State with stand your ground laws, would It be legal for me to shoot a stranger approaching me with a deadly weapon?

    1. Every time a police officer approaches you that is a stranger with a gun coming up to you. Do you feel the need to shoot them?

    2. BS logic. I might not know the officer personally, but he is not a stranger unless he is in plain clothes, and if he is in plain clothes, then yes I would treat him as a stranger. As a law abiding citizen, I treat police officers approaching me with a gun differently than a stranger approaching me with a gun. If you don't understand the difference, I can't help you.

    3. Only a gunwack moron would equate a cop with a criminal. But gunwacks are uniformly stupid. That appears to be your group.

    4. The mere presence of a gun is not a threat. No, you would not be justified in shooting someone who is merely armed. Now if that person is attacking you, that's another matter. I suggest you take a class and get educated in the difference.

    5. As I said idiot Greg, The guy walks up to my car brandishing a gun, I don't know what his intentions are. I guess you missed that, or would you allow a stranger brandishing a gun get so close to you? It would be a little late to find out he was going to shoot and rob you instead of giving you a flier. You trust him, I won't.

    6. Open carry where it's legal isn't brandishing, but why should I expect a comprehension of the law from a gun control freak?

    7. Since I'm not a gun control freak maybe you should identify who you are talking to, or as usual, are you just responding with insults again?

    8. And yet you're 8 times more likely to be killed by a cop than a terrorist. Keep believing they care about you and aren't criminals. They are being fired and charged and jailed every day across this country.

    9. CJ, you're a real cop hater, aren't you? You're generalizing about the entire body of a million cops because of the ones you read about in the news? Shit, I don't even do that when I post stories every single day about idiot gun owners. What I say is about half of the gun owners are completely responsible and actually make us safer, in spite of the constant flow of headline-grabbing idiocy.

  2. This is nice. I love Texas. There are a lot of sane people as well as both good and bad democrats and republicans. It's just an ordinary cross-section of American society. Lots of good things in Texas. Good energy policy. Good Universities. Good people. Good music and good radio stations and clubs. I hate to see Texas get a bad rap as the Capitol City of Teh Crazy. Too often my liberal friends are ready to write Texas off as some kind of whack-job paradise.
