Four Unnecessary Wars and One Nuclear Standoff Avoided

  1. Oh really?

True, we didn't get involved in Egypt, though no Republicans were calling for a war with it, so how exactly were they going to get involved there if we were in power. I mean, Egypt doesn't even have oil!

Libya . . . Ummm, I hate to break it to you, but we dropped a lot of bombs there, and that was Obama's first instance of ignoring the war powers act--something only far left pacifist Democrats called him out on . . . oh yeah, and a large set of Republicans led by ones who would have also opposed a Republican president doing the same.

Syria? You do realize we're bombing it and training the rebels, as well as bombing Iraq and sending people back in there, right? We ended the war in Iraq just to restart it.

Iran? Yeah, no war there, thus far. Also not so much as an attaboy for the Green movement when it happened, but we DO have negotiations which we keep flubbing and which will not resume until this coming summer. Am I happy we're not at war with Iran? Yes. Other than that, I've got nothing else positive to say as I wish we had some competent folks minding the store.

Finally, as for the "Nuclear standoff" we supposedly would have been in with Russia, the current situation is just so rosy isn't it. After all, Obama went to Europe a couple months back to tell Estonia that if it liked its freedom it could keep it. Russia keeps toying with us by taking over Ukraine in little bites and scaring displaying aggression toward the Baltics. The Finnish relatives say they don't fear another invasion so long as they don't piss Russia off by joining NATO--something for which they think the Baltics are royally screwed.

So yeah, we've totally avoided any standoff with Putin. Why just Imagine if Romney had won and approached Putin with a clear view that Putin had interests and geopolitical goals that opposed ours and other countries' . . . The Horror! He might not have been blindsided by Russian aggression like president "just let me get reelected and then I'll have some flexibility to give Putin what he wants."

    1. I feel dizzy from all your spinning.

    2. You feel dizzy because you immerse yourself in a total environment of spinning--spinning every news story to your ends, spinning the truth into silly and incorrect memes like the one above, etc. You're so used to the spin that you've ceased to notice it, so anytime you see something presented without spin you notice an effect like a kid that stops spinning in place and wonder why the world is still moving. It's really sad, but the only other explanation for your use of "you're spinning" when people aren't spinning is that you know they're not and are lying to justify your dismissal of their comments that you don't see any way to argue against.

    3. McCain wanted to attack Iran. It was his campaign song. Bomb, bomb, bomb, Iran!

    4. Yes, it was, and his quickness to want to go to war is one of the reasons I didn't support him At ALL even though it meant, as a practical matter, we'd get Obama. As I said, we don't have a war there so far. You get that one that we'd likely have had with McCain and might have had with Romney. What of the others that Obama still got us? And what of Egypt--how were the evil Republicans going to get us into that one?

The meme is, on balance, idiotic and misleading.

    5. First it was completely wrong because I'm the one who spins everything. Now, it's wrong ON BALANCE. Even you admit that Obama was the better choice over the Republicans, yet you're inexplicable Obama hate is so great you can't give him credit for anything unless forced to.

    6. Mike,

Were you trying to make a point with that first sentence, because you didn't.

Yes, I admitted he was a better choice than McCain...ever heard the phrase "damning with faint praise" before? As for Romney, he Might have gotten us into a war in Iran and might not have; Obama still might.

As for your word salad about inexplicable Obama hate, we've been over this ad nauseum. I explain, and you shout "racist," which doesn't actually mean racist when you use it, but more something like "stupid doody head."

    7. And what of Egypt

What of it? Did Obama start a war there?
Did Obama start the war in Iraq? Did Obama start the war in Afghanistan?
It's Republicans who want to send troops back over there, after Obama got the troops out.
One of the gun loons just the other day called Hagle a war monger, what a laugh. Must mean Rummy was a Mussolini.
We had the daddy Bush war with Iraq, then we had the Bush jr. war with Iraq started by a total lie by Bush.
We have been making the mistake of getting involved in the Middle East since before WW II, and you want to claim Obama is the worst abuser of military policies in the Middle East? You partisanship is showing, or is it something else.

  2. You mean Benghazi where the GOP House just issued a report? You know what that report said, right?
