A high quality firearm. I bought my M-4 from Bushmaster because that's the brand my local police department keeps in its squad car and the Chief spoke well of its quality and reliability. So far, I've not noticed it murmuring suggestions of murder and mayhem coming from it. Though my middle daughter has said she wants to use it to hunt deer with it come fall. Something I think I can arrange if she does her part.
Yeah--he should be just as grateful to Kollitides as McVeigh was to the CEO of whatever fertilizer manufacturer "enabled" his (far larger scale) mass murder.
"Gun control" advocates--it's as if logic and facts cause them physical agony.
It's also a matter of fact that the choice of weapon for killers in America is guns, not bombs; and for you to try and compare the two as similar, just shows what a gun loon you are.
Then why bring up such a stupid unrelated fact? A little diversion from the issue? A little nonsense from a gun loon? Or maybe just a ridiculous comment from a gun loon.
What Lanza did was to use a product in exactly the way it was made to be used.
Is it your contention, then, that Bushmaster's exact intent for the rifle sold to Nancy Lanza was that it be used to slaughter 6-year-olds? If so, that sounds like a tough position to defend. I'd love to see you try, though. ;-)
So, are mining companies misusing Ammonium Nitrate fertilizer when they use it in blasting? If that's a legitimate use of the product by them, then McVeigh's misuse lies only in his using it for terrorist purposes. This would be the exact same way Lanza misused the Bushmaster.
"What McVeigh did was to misuse a product for his purposes. What Lanza did was to use a product in exactly the way it was made to be used.".......Not an accurate statement either Mike
Uh... Sammy, who were you intending to kill when you asked SJ to give you a free gun?
"Excuse me for making feeding my kids my priority. Seems you have no idea what it means to not be able to pay bills much less by expensive guns. It's your elitist attitude that sucks. If you are so well off please send me a nice 9mm auto, S&M will be fine."
I wasn't intending to kill anyone, insulting smart ass. The point was, if a gun is such an inalienable right, then why should money be a reason I can't have one? Only rich people have a right to a gun? Right? George, no surprise an insulting ass like you is to stupid to understand clear English. It's sad insults are all you gun loons have, but as long as Mike posts them, I see no reason to respond similarly. If you don't like insults stop spewing them and you won't get them.
" If you don't like insults stop spewing them and you won't get them." ....Sammy Im not sure where that is coming from I never claimed to be insulted nor have you insulted me nor I you...So what the are you talking about?
Fertilizer is also made to blast apart rock. It's also an ingredient in those instant cold packs. That Bushmaster rifle is also made for target shooting, hunting, home defense, etc.
Now that you've gotten that oversimplification out of your system, care to address the questions above?
The high-nitrogen fertilizer used in the OKC bombing would be an idiotic choice for "grow[ing] pretty flowers"--such fertilizers would force the plants into putting the vast majority of their energy into growing foliage, rather than blooming, while the high-phosphorous, low-nitrogen fertilizers that are good for flowering would be useless for any high explosive formula I'm aware of. I'd be grateful for any info you could provide for a militia ordnance application of such fertilizers. No such thing as too much knowledge.
That Bushmaster rifle is made to kill people.
Hmm--so that one was made differently from all the rest of the Bushmasters? Puzzling.
"Do you just say any fucking thing that comes into your head?"
Mike having worked in the mining industry for most of my working life I can validate SJ's comment ..Ammonium Nitrate mixed with fuel oil is the most widely used explosive in surface mining and has been for years.....Ammonium Nitrate has been used as an explosive since WWI and when mixed with fuel oil or other things such as aluminum powder is considered an explosive and not a fertilizer by the BATF and may not legally be transported from the location that it is mixed in fact there are special formulations of AN made for the mining industry so not all AN is intended to be used as fertilizer though most will work as an explosive....
My intent was to point out how since you wanted a gun you might realize it does have a purpose other than to kill. No, I don't think you actually want to kill someone, so really there is no need to be offended.
So I take it you oppose any of MikeB's ideas which would make guns more expensive?
If you follow those links you'll learn quite a bit about Ammonium Nitrate and its uses, including some information I didn't know--e.g. that 80% of the explosives used in the US are ANFO--I had no idea that use was as common as it was.
Entertainingly, the first three uses of Ammonium Nitrate listed in the article are fertilizer, explosives, and instant cold packs--three uses I laid out when you accused me of just saying any old thing that came into my head.
If you don't want to trust Wikipedia, each article has links to other articles where you can do some more reading.
Now that we've covered that, do you care to get back to the questions about misuse of products and what differentiated McVeigh's and Lanza's misuse?
You lying twisting gun nuts were talking about "fertilizer," not just ammonium nitrate. Are you going to tell us now that the two are exactly synonymous and interchangeable?
I'm not denying what I said, I am saying that it was tongue in cheek. If I really thought you intended to kill someone I would have called the cops on you.
So you were also talking tongue in cheek when you said you wanted a gun? You were just making a point, like I was?
You lying twisting gun nuts were talking about "fertilizer," not just ammonium nitrate. Are you going to tell us now that the two are exactly synonymous and interchangeable?..............No Mikey we were talking about Ammonium Nitrate....
TS, no. I don't make fun of life and death, or a weapon that can kill. I understand you gun loons do, which is one reason I call you gun loons. Like SS and his joke on another thread. Enjoy your laughs and your insulting lies.
No, they are not exactly synonymous, but I used fertilizer because that was a hell of a lot easier to type that Ammonium Nitrate and we all knew, or I assumed we did, that the Oklahoma City bomb used Ammonium Nitrate Fertilizer. That was the fertilizer in question and at issue for this entire thread.
You seem desperate to avoid answering the questions posed to you on this topic. Is it because you can't distinguish between McVeigh's misuse of a product useful for everything from fertilizer to blasting and Lanza's misues of a product useful for everything from target shooting to defense to killing?
You are so full of BS, TS! I guess you forgot when I chastised SS for making jokes about life and death. I know you sick gun loon s love killing, but I don't accept that and will again say something when you spout that sick garbage.
George, no surprise an insulting ass like you is to [sic] stupid to understand clear English.
Here's a free tip, Sammy: if you are going to try to insult someone's intelligence over his command of the English language, it would probably be a good idea to learn the difference between "to" and "too."
"George if you are going to be stupid and wrong maybe you just just be quit and not prove both."............Sammy I'm sorry I didn't understand what you were attempting to say there could you clarify your thought please?

Logic? Facts? What's the logic of comparing the number killed by guns to the number killed by manure bombs?
DeleteSammy Ammonium Nitrate or ANFO when mixed with fuel oil is not manure this is a matter of Fact...
DeleteIt's also a matter of fact that the choice of weapon for killers in America is guns, not bombs; and for you to try and compare the two as similar, just shows what a gun loon you are.
