I find it highly unlikely that the parent dropped the gun and tried to catch it on the way down and then lied about the gun being in a bag and being dropped. It seems more likely that it happened exactly as reported, even though the sheriff couldn't confirm. Dropped guns sometimes discharge with horrible results.
Well Mike, even the Sheriff in the video said he couldn't confirm that the firearm was dropped.
