In Juxtaposition, from the BBC World News Service:

Breaking news
Virginia Tech university, site of the 2007 shooting that killed 32 people, has been put on lockdown after the possible sighting of a gunman on campus.
An alert was issued on the university website at 09:37 (13:37GMT) warning students and staff to stay indoors.
"Person with a gun reported near Dietrick. Stay inside. Secure doors," the school alert said.
There are no reports of any shots having been fired.
In April 2007, Cho Seung-hui shot dead 32 people on a two-and-a-half-hour rampage before killing himself.
Three children attending a camp at the university reported on Thursday morning seeing a white male with brown hair outside New Residence Hall East, holding what "may have been a handgun", Virginia Tech said.
"They [the children] say the weapon was covered by a cloth or covering of some sort. He was walking fast in the direction of the volleyball courts," the statement added.
The group said the man was wearing a blue-and-white striped shirt and sandals.
Police from Virginia Tech and the towns of Blacksburg and Christiansburg are currently searching for the man, the university website said.
No other witnesses have reported seeing the man or anything suspicious

  1. Gee I wonder why Cho was able to kill 32 people without any resistance? Could it be because VT was a gun free zone. He only offed himself when Police finally confronted him. Maybe, just maybe if someone had been legally armed that day things MIGHT have turned out different. Also notice he didn't use the EVVVVVILL HI-CAP MAGS, he used mostly 10 rnd mags, he just reloaded several times.
Sorry, I just don't understand the mindset of people who would deny the right of honest law abiding citizens to defend themselves with the best tool available. Just my opinion

  2. Gee, I wonder why Cho, who was dangerously NUTS, was able to legally BUY the guns he used, and others people just like him could as well?

    No answer for that Cowman?

The answer is to stop people like Cho in the first place, not to have peope caught in the crossfire in the hopes that someone with a concelaed carry migth shoot the right person, and not too many wrong ones.

  3. I agree that Cho slipped through the cracks, thats why I support better reporting to NICS on mental judgements in that I think we can agree. If it is such a problem with CHL holders shooting the wrong people surely you can cite some examples. I'll wait, and don't even try to use the CHL holder at the Gabby Giffords shooting, he never even drew his weapon. While your at it, answer my ? about states not repealing CCW laws.

Gee, I wonder why Cho, who was dangerously NUTS, was able to legally BUY the guns he used, and others people just like him could as well?

Because the people around him did nothing to help him get the mental health help he needed......

  5. I strongly agree with Dog Gone. The trick is to stop more people like Cho before they get guns. Loosening gun restrictions will do the exact opposite.
