Simply Put It's Just a Coincidence

  1. Yup, an example of how data can be manipulated. What this doesn't point out is that South Africa has strict gun control and a homicide rate that is about eight times ours. Russia has strict gun control, but its rate is about twice ours. The Czech Republic's rate is a quarter of ours, but its gun laws are similar to what we have.

  2. Also, Mikeb, why does your side put so much importance in "gun-related homicides"? What is important is the number of homicides, period, not the method used.

    1. Greg, you're conveniently forgetting my oft-cited stat about intentional homicides US vs. UK. We have 4 times more.

    2. Yup, one times four is four. You keep acting as though that's a huge difference. I haven't forgotten it. In fact, I mention the U.K.'s number often. I also point out the numbers of South Africa, Puerto Rico, and the Czech Republic. You ignore those.

    3. Mike, you seem to ignore the fact that those intentional homicide rates were the same in the UK before gun control was implemented. Therefore, it does not follow that gun control would lower the US intentional homicide rate. What has happened in the UK is that their violent crime rate has increased post ban.

    4. You're just repeating what you've heard some other gun fanatic say. You should use your head a little.

    5. I can't speak for Anonymous, but I have sources for my statement. Of course, you won't address me. I didn't get my comment from a "gun fanatic." I got it from independent sources. You refuse to answer those. That's because you can't. If you can, prove me wrong.
