NRA Official Criticized Over Nazi Argument in NJ by the Anti-Defamation League

The Anti-Defamation League says a National Rifle Association board member from New Jersey was out of line to suggest similarities between gun control efforts and Nazism.
Association of New Jersey Rifle and Pistol Clubs executive director Scott Bach made the remarks last week on an NRA News program. The remarks came during a discussion of a Jersey City policy to ask gun makers about their safety records as part of their bids to sell firearms and ammunition to the police department.
Bach said Democratic Mayor Steve Fulop should know better than to institute the policy because his grandparents were Holocaust survivors.
The Anti-Defamation League has been campaigning against tying the Holocaust and Nazis to politics, particularly in gun control.

  1. Violation of rights are all a part of the same evil. The only question here is a matter of degree.

    1. The question is how deep is your antisemitism?

    2. The answer is zero, in whatever units you care to use, since I'm not antisemitic.

    3. You're the one who violates our rights, as I've pointed out on numerous occasions.

    4. Mikeb, I don't tell you what choices you may make and not make, so no, I am violating none of your rights.

    5. Right, just the other day you agreed with the Mayor be compared to the holocaust.

    6. But I think you do, Greg. Don't you tell me I cannot murder or steal? In the same way, since we live in the society of one another, we need laws against certain other things. The difference between you and me is I'm not playing the victim and saying these laws violate my rights.

    7. Mikeb, I've said to you many times that you have the right to do whatever you wish, so long as it doesn't harm an innocent person. You've conveniently forgotten that here. Owning and carrying guns are not inherent harms.

    8. Guns cause 33,000 gun shot deaths a year and tens of thousands more serious injuries. I guess these people were all criminals? No, most were innocent people at the hands of irresponsible gun users.

    9. "Owning and carrying guns are not inherent harms." That's cute Greg, and it may be true, as far as it goes. But when there are a hundred million of you and a good percentage of you are actually unfit for one reason or another, the harm is there. When you support loose gun laws or none at all, the harm is there. Take responsibility for it. The only thing you can honestly say is the harm, starting with the 32,000 deaths each year but going way beyond that, is worth it.
