Tennessee Boy Killed on Christmas - It Was Just an Accident

SF Gate reports
Memphis police say a 10-year-old boy has died from what they believe was an accidental shooting.
Police spokeswoman Karen Rudolph said officers received a call around 1:15 p.m. on Tuesday about a shooting at a local residence.

When they arrived, they discovered a young boy had been shot. The child was transported to Le Bonheur Children's Hospital where he was pronounced dead.

According to a police report, several individuals were in the residence when a shot was fired, striking the boy.

Police didn't provide further details, except that the shooting appears to have been accidental.
More disgraceful down-playing of the seriousness of gun negligence.

  1. Guns, still not protecting people; still killing people, especially kids.

    NRA = Gun whores.

    1. Because some 600 accidental firearms deaths are more important that 100,000 defensive gun uses?

      But yes, the NRA and other organizations are protecting our right to own and carry guns. I can see why control freaks like you don't approve.

    2. You're spinning the numbers again, Greg. Comparing an inflated number of DGUs, presumably including the brandishing kind, to accidental deaths. You need to include the accidental woundings as well as every act of gun violence and compare that to the DGUs.

      That wouldn't look so good for your side though would it?

    3. Accidental woundings? There aren't solid numbers for those that I've seen. I also used the most conservative of the reasonable numbers about defensive gun uses. Your 500 a year is blatant nonsense.

    4. No, Greg, the blatant nonsense was your comparing all DGUs of every kind to only accidental deaths. Your mendacity and lack of integrity in the argument is amazing.

    5. You reject many defensive gun uses because in your mind, unless the good citizen has suffered a mortal wound, there isn't enough evidence to show that the criminal had deadly intent.

    6. A mortal wound is not required but reasonable expectation of lethal threat or serious bodily harm is often lacking.

  2. Want to bet that right up to the shooting, the gun owner was absolutely sure he was safe and fully in control?

    1. Anyone want to bet that Dog Gone thought of herself as a safe gun owner and someone who deserved to have a carry license?
