Eight people were killed, including the alleged gunman, in multiple shootings Thursday night near Tyrone in Texas County.
The Missouri State Highway Patrol said the suspect, 36-year-old Joseph Jesse Aldridge, apparently killed seven individuals and injured another at multiple residences before fleeing to Shannon County and killing himself. Authorities believe a ninth person died of natural causes before the shooting spree and may have motivated the gunman.

ReplyDelete"Aldridge pleaded guilty in 2008 to federal charges out of Howell County for possessing a firearm while using marijuana, following a traffic stop by Mountain View police. The gun is described as a "Ruger, model 22/45, .22 caliber pistol." He also had ammunition. Aldridge was sentenced to 21 months in prison and three years of supervised release. Among the terms of Aldridge's release were that he was ordered to participate in a mental health counseling program, as well as a substance abuse treatment program. Officials have said the gun used in the mass shootings was Aldridge's."
