Murder - Suicide in Indiana

Fox News reports on the tragedy.

Shortly after she opened the doors to Deb & Donna's Diner Saturday morning, Debbie Aynes was gunned down by her longtime boyfriend who then turned the gun on himself at the restaurant just off Highway 36 east of Pendleton.

The article goes on to say that "He's a wild man. He was just off the wall -- kind of an out-of-control guy." No one was surprised that he'd had guns, though. In Indiana that a given

Just like the man in Georgia the other day, we don't know if this Indiana fellow was a restricted person already or not, or if he'd actually been a licensed concealed carry guy. When domestic violence escalates to murder and suicide such details are often lost. That's why the claim by John Lott that so few cases of licence revocation take place is bogus. No one is counting, and the pro-gun folks like that just fine.

And, by the way, if it wasn't clear, I blame the gun owners of Indiana for this, because of their general attitude towards guns and all the efforts they put forth to make them as accessible as possible. Second only to the bullying, misogynist murderer himself, I blame them.

What's your opinion? Please leave a comment.

  1. The source and validity of Lott's numbers has already been verified.

Mike, have you stopped reading your own comments now?

  2. He was a permit holder, an NRA member and a racist, Jade is sure. Mark his words.

I agree. Nobody questions the source or validity of Lott's numbers. However, everyone questions his methodology and conclusions.

  4. This case illustrates once again that when one of the gunloons goes on a shooting rampage--it's rarely, if ever, something that happens out of the blue.

Immediately after the initial shock of the tragedy, you often hear friends say 'who could have dreamed of this happening' or 'nobody ever expected this to happen.'

Which, of course, is total BS.

It never fails that later we learn the gunloon had mental problems or a drinking/drug issue or he was a domestic abuser or the like. And then folks are "shocked" when he goes out an kills some people?

  5. "It never fails that later we learn the gunloon was a prohibited person that broke gun control laws..."

There Jade, I fixed it for you.

First of all, don't you feel strange addressing me by my first name while calling yourself "anonymous."

One time 45 Superman I think it was started commenting as Beowulf because he was embarrassed that he'd made a grandiose gesture of saying he'd never come here again.

And the several times Weer'd said he'd never come back here for "moral" reasons. But he keeps coming. At least those guys eventually manned up to it. Why don't you?

About your other remark that "Lott's numbers have been verified," maybe you didn't get my point. I'm not questioning if the 167 is a legitimate figure, if that is the figure they have record of. I am questioning if it's comprehensive, if there might not be thousands more that have gone unrecognized as concealed carry permit holders.

Use some common sense, man. You know what they teach you in advanced math class, they teach you to estimate and check if the answer makes sense. If it doesn't go back and look for what went wrong. That's what we've got here.

Jadegold attacked other posters from behind anonymity until you handed the reigns over to him. Maybe giving this anonymous editorial control will out them. Ridiculous I know, but then so was bringing Jadegold aboard.

  9. Hey, Mike, you've been banned from almost as many websites and forums as Jadegold, and your readership numbers are in the toilet, and most of your readers are pro-rights people who come to see your blunders and follies.

The rest are pretty well documented intellectual cowards.

So what good does denying myself a hearty laugh at you and Jade's expense hurt me at this point?

  10. I suspect our Anonymous commenter who seems to know everybody and recall old exchanges is known to us under another name. I'm just curious that's all.

Weer'd has some kind of weird obsession with me. Anyone who's been reading along for a year or more knows this. I actually used to enjoy his comments until they became nasty and lacking in substance, which is pretty much all we're left with.

He does what a lot of people do, which is to feign superiority. At times it's a bit tedious.

  11. I suspect, based upon the writing styles, you have at least three anonymous contributors, maybe even double that. (I know for a fact there are at least two, since I am not the same nony mouse that contributed the first comment.)

Uh oh, time to turn on comment moderation again!

That's bizarre. I've felt the exact same way about this blog lately. Seems like every other day there is a post with an attack on Linoge, Steven Wright, Robert Farago, FatWhiteMan, or some other blogger. Add to that the typical lefty obsession posts about Palin and Glenn Beck, and there's not a whole lot of substance left.

  13. RuffRidr, I'll try to get it back up to your standards. Of course you can always spend you time on those blogs where everyone agrees with each other. I don't think there as much fun.

This right here is fun, and I thank you for your part in it.
