Gunman shoots up Hopkins restaurant, sending cleaning crew fleeing
A man fired several shotgun blasts Tuesday morning inside a closed restaurant in Hopkins, hitting cash registers but sparing the cleaning crew inside, police said.
The shooting occurred shortly after 8 a.m. at Lindee's Saloon & Eatery along Hwy. 7, just east of Hwy. 169, according to police.
The suspected shooter, a 36-year-old man, was arrested and taken to a hospital for treatment.
According to Police Sgt. Michael Glassberg:
The man entered the business and started shooting. The cleaning crew contacted the owner and fled.
The owner called police, then went inside just as officers were arriving.
Officers on the scene made telephone contact inside and heard a struggle between the gunman and owner.
Several officers entered the business and detained the suspect.
Glassberg didn't want specify what prompted the shooting but said his anger was directed "toward the business" and not anyone in the cleaning crew.
The motive "will be clear when the criminal complaint comes out," he said.

ReplyDeleteI have some pretty serious issues with rage, dating back to a very fucked up few years of childhood. In my most pissed off moment I can't imagine having serious thoughts about shooting up someone or something for any reason short of them trying to harm me. Since I don't own any guns I will more likely be runnin' and hidin, which is very sissified as all of the gunzloonz will tell you. On the other hand sissy's live to run another day and, when fate smiles on them, they get to watch their attacker have nearly ALL of his rights, but most especially that GOD given gunzrightz thing, taken away.
