"Toy Gun" Disaster

via The Portland Press Herald

A 9-year-old boy from Naples was hospitalized late Thursday night after being shot in the head with a pellet gun.

In a statement released by the Cumberland County Sheriff's Office, Capt. Jeff Davis said the boy, Gavin Gilmore, suffered a life-threatening injury when a pellet from the .177-caliber gun lodged in the front of his brain.
What do you think? Should something be done about this?

  1. A pellet gun is not a toy. It says that on the packaging and on the gun.

The only thing that needs to be done is for parents to read the packaging before they buy these things and/or monitor what their children buy.

  2. AztecRed beat me to it. It would help if no one refers to pullet guns as “toys”. It is a gun. Not a firearm, but an air powered GUN. All the safety rules apply. That is why CA’s law of painting them like they are toys is so dangerous.

  3. Sure, guys, all the safety rules apply, they're not toys.

They either need to be controlled like real guns or banned.
