Gunloon FAIL

Over at Common Gunsense, japete asked 20 questions.

1.Do you believe that criminals and domestic abusers should be able to buy guns without background checks?
2.What is your proposal for keeping guns away from criminals, domestic abusers, terrorists and dangerously mentally ill people?
3.Do you believe that a background check infringes on your constitutional right to "keep and bear arms"?
4.Do you believe that I and people with whom I work intend to ban your guns?
5.If yes to #4, how do you think that could happen ( I mean the physical action)?
6.What do you think are the "second amendment remedies" that the tea party GOP candidate for Senate in Nevada( Sharron Angle) has proposed?
7.Do you believe in the notion that if you don't like what someone is doing or saying, second amendment remedies should be applied?
8.Do you believe it is O.K. to call people with whom you disagree liars and demeaning names?
9.If yes to #8, would you do it in a public place to the person's face?
10.Do you believe that any gun law will take away your constitutional rights?
11. Do you believe in current gun laws? Do you think they are being enforced? If not, explain.
12.Do you believe that all law-abiding citizens are careful with their guns and would never shoot anybody?
13.Do you believe that people who commit suicide with a gun should be included in the gun statistics?
14.Do you believe that accidental gun deaths should "count" in the total numbers?
15.Do you believe that sometimes guns, in careless use or an accident, can shoot a bullet without the owner or holder of the gun pulling the trigger?
16.Do you believe that 30,000 gun deaths a year is too many?
17.How will you help to prevent more shootings in this country?
18.Do you believe the articles that I have posted about actual shootings or do you think I am making them up or that human interest stories about events that have happened should not count when I blog about gun injuries and deaths?
19.There has been some discussion of the role of the ATF here. Do you believe the ATF wants your guns and wants to harass you personally? If so, provide examples ( some have written a few that need to be further examined).
20.Will you continue a reasonable discussion towards an end that might lead somewhere or is this an exercise in futility
?

She received a lot of comments. Unsurprisingly, the gunloons were unable to answer many of these questions without rephrasing them or accsing her of bad faith. She has a very thoughtful response here.

  1. Actually, most responses answered the questions as they were; however, some did need clarification, as some were phrased with typical antigun bias.

  2. I thought she received a lot of well thought out responses. But even after asking the questions, she does not bother responding to any of the answers, other than to say that she is processing them. Instead she uses her time and energy to criticize those that would question her. What are the chances that she (or any gun control advocate) would answer 20 questions we could come up with? Hell, it appears that she can't even answer just one.

  3. Update: reasoned discourse has broken out once again. She will no longer be talking with us, only at us.

  4. Ruffy: Actually, I didn't see any responses that were well-thought out. Most of them tried to rephrase the question and almost all evaded the question altogether.

I don't blame her for moderating her comments. Gunloons have a marked tendency to try and bully women who hold a pro gun control view. I recall it happening with a blogger named Robyn Ringler. She got the swarm of gunloons and several threatened her with violence--sort of like Weerd likes to do. When she complained, gunloons said she deserved it.

  5. "sort of like Weerd likes to do."

So, you still haven't contacted the police over this? Are you that afraid of being laughed at? Because we laugh at you all the time, so you should probably be used to it by now.

  6. "Actually, I didn't see any responses that were well-thought out."

Sagefool, you couldn't see a well-thought out response if it was labeled as such in bright blue letters and flashing lights.

But the other reason you didn't see any was because she refused to post any that dared to disagree, or removed them and acted as though some had made threats (like you do).

That's what makes this place different. MikeB doesn't stop people from informing him that his side is flat out wrong, over and over and over.

  7. Mike W: I thought I'd explained about Weerd's death threat. Didn't you read it or didn't you understand it?

  8. Ruffy: Actually, I didn't see any responses that were well-thought out.

Of course not, you have a well known bias. Anything that does not fit your world view would not be considered by you. That's what happens when you are so narrow minded.

    Thanks, I guess.

I like Japete, by the way.

  10. You admitted that you were afraid to go to the police, right?

Because you knew that they'd laugh at you because it was clear to anyone with a brain (and that excludes you automatically) that Weer'd had not threatened you, so you then made up some nonsense about not being required to go to the police, even though no one ever claimed you had to.

  11. Mike W: Not quite.

As I sagely wrote previously, I understand gunloons like Weerd tend to talk very big but are always short on action. I also sagely noted that should I be wrong (inconceivable) about Weerd and he elects to try to make good on his threat, I'm pretty confident in my abilities. Besides, I'd probably hear the asthmatic Weerd from the next zip code.

  12. I'm pretty confident in my abilities.

Amuse us. What abilities would those be?

  13. "...and he elects to try to make good on his threat..."

And what exactly was his threat? In what exact manner did he threaten you, and how did he say he would carry out his threat?

    Be specific.

And thank you again. You are too kind.

  14. Does anybody here think that anti-gun proponents would answer 20 questions that we posed of them? Ya, me neither.
