The crazed ex-con who killed his girlfriend's son then opened fire inside a Queens bus packed with commuters, killing another man, was hoping for a bloodbath, prosecutors charge.
"The defendant stated that he would have shot more people but the gun jammed," prosecutor Suzanne O'Hare said in Queens Criminal Court during Damel Burton's arraignment.
Another thing the pro-gun crowd keep denying is that gun availability plays a part in these situations. Can you imagine that in New York City, where there are extremely strict gun control laws, a guy as crazy and paranoid as Damel, with a long felony record to boot, was able to get his hands on a gun. It's unbelievable and it's unacceptable. But the explanation is simple, and so is the solution.

I think a life sentence with no possibility of parole is in order--for him and whatever asswipe sold him the gun.

Oh, yes, blame the Ruger. Perhaps the goblin didn't clean and oil his gun the way that he should. Perhaps he wasn't holding it correctly.
