Lawful Colorado Gun Owner Shoots Step-daughter and her Boyfriend Because he Disapproved of their Dating

Local news reports

A Roaring Fork Valley restaurant owner may face first-degree murder charges after allegedly shooting his stepdaughter and her boyfriend, who later died, because he didn’t want them dating.

He probably had a concealed carry permit since they're so easy to get, but no one is checking.  Who cares when a gun commits murder.

  1. The article says that he is an immigrant from El Salvador. It's not even clear that he's a legal resident, much less a citizen. So where do you get the lawful gun owner bit? And where does it say that he has a carry license?

Ignoring the truth makes your case look worse than it already is.

    1. Teddy: Actually, it's pretty clear. How many illegal immigrants own restaurants? Two of them? And how many of them actually tell their life story on a website for their business?

    2. So, you're jumping on Kevin's bandwagon, eh Jade. Not really surprising considering you're equals in both intellect and integrity.

    3. You agree with Teddy? That because this gunloon is Hispanic--he just has to be illegal? Even though he owns to two restaurants and is well-known in the community?

    4. The article said that he fled El Salvador and has lived here for twenty years. Nothing is said about his immigration status. To quote Mikeb, no one is checking.

    5. On the contrary Greg, when they arrest someone for a gun crime they charge him with illegal possession of the gun, if that's appropriate. In the absence of that kind of charge, we know the guy was one of you.

    6. Mikeb, why are you unaware that not every crime gets charged and not every charge gets reported?

    7. Apparently my internet connection lost my last comment--No Jade, I wasn't commenting on the content of Greg's statement. I was commenting on your joining with Kevin in applying a ridiculous name to Greg--one you two consider an insult. It's inane and immature, but I will say that it's funny to see you emulating a guy who managed to get himself blocked and to singlehandedly piss off everyone else by getting moderation turned back on for a while to enforce the ban.

    8. Aren't you the one who called Jadegold, Madame Jadegold, among other misogynistic put-downs? Now you're saying such activity is "inane and immature."

    9. When Jadegold acts like an infant, he gets called out for it.

    10. Yes, I said Madam Jadegold, not to be misogynistic, but because I was so tickled by Greg's suggestion that the handle sounded like a stripper name. I remember using no other feminine names.

Yes, I like poking at Jade, and in doing so I say things that I wouldn't say as part of a mature, serious conversation. Jade is over the top most of the time, so I don't take my conversations with him very seriously. Same when I deal with various trolls, be they the flock of sockpuppets or the occasional sparring with Kevin. I'm willing to take as good as I give, and that's why, even though I wasn't going to stoop to Kevin's level, I didn't mind him making a fool of himself by descending far below even the level of polite jabs and insults.

On the other side of things, you, alone among your co-bloggers, reply to questions and usually engage in serious debate, and I hope that you can see a different tone in our exchanges since I take them far more seriously than exchanges with insult artists like Jade and elitists like Laci who claims that he would respond to my comments if they were only cogent enough to understand.

    11. So, when you engage in "inane and immature" discourse with Jadegold it's his fault.

    12. If Jade wishes to engage in nothing but slander and infantile foolishness, then he should expect to be ignored or answered according to his folly.

  2. Ted (Greg) Nugent doesn't know truth, just how to be a slimy, kill loving jack ass.

  3. Greg is correct.

So all there is a person who MIGHT be a prohibited person who seems to have committed premeditated murder.

    1. No, he was obviously not a prohibited person, for the reasons that Jadegold and I stated.

ss, you seem to be sliding down the chute towards unreasonable gun-rights fanaticism. You didn't used to be so silly in your defense of Greg's silliness.

    2. Mike,

When I say we don't know that's what I mean, nothing more, nothing less. According to the article, he hasn't even appeared before a judge yet. As often happens in stories you post, you assume things if they aren't mentioned in the article. Due process happens more slowly than the media.
